Still looking to play college baseball? Feel like you have the talent to continue your career beyond high school? We have some good news, there are still a lot of D2, JUCO’s and Community Colleges looking to complete their rosters next season.

The 2012 Battle of the Border is proud to offer for the first time ever an unsigned seniors game and workout. Players that enroll and are accepted to play in this event on June 10th will have the opportunity to participate in a 90 minute pro-style work-out and play in a 9 inning game in front of coaches and scouts still looking for players. The Battle of the Border, now in its 4th season has helped so many players receive additional exposure with college coaches and pro scouts. The unsigned seniors game is the by-product of requests we received from area D2, JUCO and Community Colleges.

The Battle of the Border 2012 All Star Showcase Unsigned Seniors Game will be the biggest addition ever made for this now four year old event. Each player will have the opportunity to showcase their talents by competing with and against players from across North and South Carolina. . Each player will also receive a Battle of the Border Game Jersey, pro-style workout and free admission to all 5 nights of Battle of The Border Baseball Games.

So if you are sitting here in mid-April with a high desire to play college baseball and you remain unsigned, this could be your ticket to reach your goal. Interested players need to enroll at www.battleofthebordershowcase.com From that point forward, provided you have shown the ability to play some level of college baseball, your application will be accepted and your position will be secured. This event is limited to 18-19 players per team so that each player will get a chance to show their skills in the pro-style workout and in the game. Positions will be tracks so that we don't accept 8 catchers or 15 pitchers, etc. Once the set # of players at that position are enrolled, I will announce on the website, the closing off of that position.

Players and parents have my word that this event will be on par or better than all the previous Battle of the Border events. As those of you that know me well, you know my mission and goal is to provide opportunities for student-athletes, this event fits that mission I believe.

Enrollment is now open at www.battlofthebordershowcase.com

I wanted to publicly answer a couple of questions about this game

You do not have to be nominated for this game, it is different from our 2012 All Star game that night. This game is for unsigned seniors with a desire to be seen one more time by coaches. It also comes with a 90 minute workout before the game. This is for kids that just aren't ready to call it quits and want to showcase one more time for the coaches we will have in the house.

All you need to do is go to www.battleofthebordershowcase.com and enroll

Game enrollment will end once we have the # of players at each position needed to insure a good, quality event. The longer you wait, the less spots there will be at your position. For example, there are only so many innings that can be pitched.

coaches, family, friends, please share this with kids you know that still deserve a chance to play college baseball. This is open to anyone in NC, SC or beyond, it is NOT limited to this region

    thanks for passing info along

Believe me when I say this: There are many schools aggressively looking for players with talent ready to commit to their program. If you are really wanting to play at the next level, this is a great opportunity to get exposure
