The 2013 Impact Pre-Season Polls are out with TC Roberson and Weddington expectedly on top of their 4A and 3A class. Any surprises or blatant omissions in the top 10 of any of the classes? Agreements or disagreements? What do you all think?:cucumber:

I'm surprised Marvin Ridge is not in the top 10 for 3A. Returning more players than Weddington and actually won the conference over Weddington last year before being upset in playoffs.

Lots of good teams in this state for sure. Both listed and not listed. Impact does a great job gathering this information to bring out a poll so everyone can talk about something while it rains but also carry some bragging rights/chip on shoulders.

I know this is known to many of you, but let's all remember how much pre-season rankings mean... Last year the 4A State Champ was hardly mentioned until May. Good luck to all!!

Hickory Ridge would have made the 3a poll for me.

In the 2A rankings I cannot see how you omit First Flight..........They made it to the quarter finals in 2012 with low offensive output.......
In two games this year they have scored 26 runs and given up 0 and a total of 2 hits
    Better defense
    Better hitting
    Better pitching
    Better chemistry

Maybe First Flight should be, time will tell ......as for this season, Perquimmans (good 1A) beat them in a scrimmage and they have played two extremly weak teams (both 1A's) so far and have faced no real pitching yet, but they will when they play Currituck and Greenbrier. Their hitting and defense should be better than 2012 and they have more arms available. Still have the #2 from last year, but the other pitchers overall are much weaker. They will be in trouble if they lose anyone to injury etc.because there are no real back ups to fill in. They do have an exciting young freshman starting, Golliday, who will be fun to watch the next couple of years.

    GWTW62.....
Valid points regarding the FF make up and performance thus far, but stilll deserving of 2A recognition.......However, the pitching should be every bit as good as last year and with improvements in the offensive and defensive output, the outlook is bright........Next Friday night against Greenbrier will certainly test the young team.
