    Everyone has an opinion

I will go with what I have witnessed with my own eyes. I saw a bunch of balls leave the park this weekend. Since I have a daughter that pitches I am fine with the 39.95 idea.

You are correct, everyone does have an opinion, weather it's right or wrong is determined by each. My only point was, why buy a piece of equipment that will not hold up for what it was designed for. That seems like a bad investment to me but then again, that's is just my opinion.

I am the original poster of this thread and all i can say is My daughter has been playing tournament ball for about 8 years now and i have NEVER witnessed in 8 years 3 of the same exact bat that all where very new completely break in two like that and a couple girls on our team have been swinging xeno for a couple years now. seems like a defect in the 2013's to me..

    All Xeno Bats

All the xeno bats regardless of the year have issues. I havent seen 13 be any worse than the other years.

My daughter swings a '11 Xeno. Within the first 6 months of owning it she said that when she went to swing, it felt like that bat was bending. Sure enough, we sent it back to Louisville and they found that the handle was separating from the barrel at the point of their flex technology. The bat was replaced and she has been swinging the replacement - along with members of her team - ever since.

Per the Louisville rep that I dealt with exclusively that patented flex zone between the barrel and the handle is where issues arise with the Xeno.

I believe we have 4 different '11 Xeno's currently running around in our dugout. No one else has had issues. I can't speak on the '13's as I have not seen one.

As for pop? Again, can't speak on the '13's but the '11's have one heck of a pop when the batter uses a proper swing.

My DD was not allowed to hit with her CF4 last weekend at Charlotte either. Where can you find the list of approved bats and is there a difference from D1 to D3 on what is legal and what is not?

    well

All bats have issues with breaking and cracking.I really don't think we have owned a bat that didn't have some kind of issue some where down the road.If it breaks send it back and they will replace it with in the warranty.I don't think XENO is any worst or better than any other brand out there as far as durability and preformance. It is the only bat out there that doesn't have and vibration if it is not hit correctly which is a plus.

    Response from LS...

I emailed the NC rep for Louisville Slugger to see what they would say. Seems like a typical response:

    Mr. Murray,

Thank you for your email. The Xeno bat has become one of the hottest bats on the market because of its performance. We have had some failures in the transition area due to different factors. While we understand that there are some breakage issues, the percentage of failures is very small when you take into account how many Xeno bats have been sold and are on the playing fields. Our engineers have noted that the return rate is minimal for the amount of bats produced. We place a one year warranty on all of our products, so if you have any issues with the Xeno bat or any other products, we will stand behind them with a full replacement.

We have introduced a new fast pitch bat this season in the OneX (FP136). This bat is performing extremely well and our engineers have introduced a new feature called the T2 two-piece connection. I would encourage you to read about this bat (www.slugger.com) as well and consider this for your next purchase.

Thank you for supporting Louisville Slugger!

    Regards,

    Brent Blake
