As a 2007 junior, Taryne set four Women's College World Series records that landed her the WCWS Most Outstanding Player award. In eight complete games, she threw 60 innings for six victories and 76 strikeouts in a seven-day span. At the end of that season, Tarynewas named to the 2007 All-Pac10 first team and earned All-American second team recognition. For her performance at the WCWS, Taryne received the ESPY for Best Female Athlete and Best Female College Athlete.

After the completion of her career at the University of Arizona, Taryne left with eight places in six different categories on Arizona's record lists.
