2014 grad, Sean Collins RHP/OF from Weddington and the East Coast Prospects has officially accepted the opportunity to play at the next level with the University of Virginia Cavaliers! Congratulations to Sean, his family and coach Poole at Weddington HS.

We are very proud of Sean and his accomplishments to date, but this is the beginning of a long journey for Sean. Continue to work hard kid. Coach O'Connor and Coach Kuhn are getting a great kid and family.

    Congrats!!!

Congrats to Sean and his family for making such a great decision. UVa is a great place for academics and baseball. Nice to get another local kid up on "the lawn."

That's impressive...I saw Sean throwing hard in the East Meck Easter tournament last year..had no idea he was so young. He looked very mature on the mound.

The young man is mature beyond his years. I had an opportunity to speak at length with him during the Hot Stove dinner, and I am not surprised that he arrived at this decision. He mentioned to me then that he had a great visit with Coach O'Connor. It led me to believe that they were the front runners and anyone else would have to "blow him away"--my quote--.

Sean is one of those "special" ballplayers, but the fact that he is going to UVA, tells me he is an outstanding student, as well.

A great family, 3 outstanding boys, and Dave gets to wear a Championship ring---dang, he's living the life!!!

Congratulations to Sean and to the entire Collins family.

I very proud of Sean. I've been able to spend some time with him over the winter. He seems to have a plan of action and is executing his plan. While I cannot say I'm a fan of UVA, I have no problem being a Sean Collins fan.

I look forward to watching many HS games with him on the mound. Congratulations to the entire Collins family.
