Not sure about McMichael, but kind of hard to have a whole lot of success when you've only been a school for two years.

As was mentioned earlier, this group contains alot of the LLWS guys from '04. Mentally, those guys will be fine. This is a big stage, but I'm thinking the WORLD Series may have been a tad bit bigger!

I guess we'll see this weekend.

BTW, There was a great article on the Patton team in this morning's Charlotte Observer. Good job Langston!

I still cannot get past the "just a second year team" story line. I repeat:

Fine, Attaway, Speiss, Lawson and Tallent started as freshmen at Freedom in 2007. Washington and Newton were sophomres on that team and Scott was their coach. They faced the best the NW4A had in guys like Bumgarner, Runion, Hinson, Messer, Coffey, Rhoney, Hardee, Harrington, Merrifield (non conf)just to name a few. There were so many future collegiate players in the league that year I cannot name them all. I personally saw Speiss hammer a tape measure HR off of Runion with 8-9 pro scouts in tow.
It is this type experience (as well as their LLWS experience)that should serve the Panthers well this weekend.
    BEST OF LUCK! GO PATTON

With the coverage in the Observer, WBTV did a story earlier in the week (video still on their website) and I know WBTV was there again yesterday for the send off as well as WHKY (video still on their website of the sendoff), it's been alot of great news for Patton and Burke County. Congrats to the Panthers! Bring home that state championship!

Impressive win by McMichael. I wonder how Patton picks itself up and answers in game 2? Can they pick themselves up?
