Before we go any further, this clinic has NO LIVE PITCHING, this is a clinic to listen and learn from some of the best in the business.

We are so excited to offer this once again to pitchers of all ages. This clinic may be the best investment you can ever make in your son's baseball career. Alan Tyson is recognized as one of the top arm care specialist in the Southeast. We have also added Mike Shildt from the St Louis Cardinals organization and Dick Cooke from Davidson College and Team USA, along with other current and former major league pitchers. This clinic will be overflowing with information.

The South Charlotte Sports Report is proud to join forces with one of the leading arm care specialist in the Southeast, Alan Tyson of Architech Sports and Physical Therapy, to offer a BASEBALL ARM CARE AND VELOCITY DEVELOPMENT CLINIC on December 4th. This unique clinic is designed for both baseball pitchers and their parents to learn valuable information on arm care and velocity development. Our goal is to help reduce the amount of injuries suffered by pitchers in our area. It's very important to note that the clinic will have NO LIVE PITCHING, this clinic is A Day of Learning.

Alan Tyson of Architech Sports and Physical Therapy has worked with more pitchers on every level of baseball than anyone in the Southeast.

Coach Mike Shildt His clients range from league pitchers to 10 year old recreational league pitchers.
"Every day I speak to baseball parents and their number one question is; How do keep my son's arm healthy? The next question usually comes from the son and he wants to know how he can increase his velocity," said Tyson. "This clinic is designed to help provide instruction that goes hand in hand in reaching both the parent and the son's goals."

In addition to Tyson, other well known coaches will be on hand to share their knowledge with young pitchers and their parents. Speakers include; St. Louis Cardinals Spring Training Coordinator and manager of the Johnson City Cardinals, Mike Shildt, Davidson College Head Baseball Coach and Team USA coach Dick Cooke. Shildt and Cooke will be joined by a group of former major league baseball pitchers and current minor league pitchers at the Arm Care Clinic. A wealth of knowledge and experience will be shared with young pitchers across the region.

The statistics on injuries for pitchers are staggering; 45% of pitchers under age 12 have chronic elbow pain, among high school pitchers this number rises to 58%.
Pitchers suffer the most injuries (21.6%) of any position in all sports that were followed over a 3-year period by the National Athletic Trainer's Association. Alan Tyson and other specialists will provide the best possible instruction on how to reduce your son's chances of becoming an injury statistic.
[IMG]Alan has developed two programs; Pitching for Success and Power Pitching to train young pitchers and has written a book entitled the Pitcher's Toolbox to give guidance to pitchers wanting to know more about how to train their arm safely. The clinic will combine his knowledge with other guests speakers from both the baseball and physical conditioning industries.

To repeat, there will be NO LIVE PITCHING at this clinic, this is a day of learning and listening with top arm care specialists and baseball pitching coaches.

Simply the best investment anyone could make. Alan Tyson is one you could listen to for days...and never get bored.

and as far as Mike Shildt is concerned, I'd pay $90 just to get him to return a call---one of the busiest men in baseball.

Very seriously, how much for a coach to attend?
I believe I heard all three of these men in short form at NCBCA clinic at UNC-CH, but would love to hear more.

(Could a coach be counted as a "parent" with attending player?)

Bring some of your players and we will take good care of you. After listening and watching everything from year one of this event and knowing how much more we have added for year two,,, this information is truly priceless. An arm is a terrible thing to waste.

The biggest thing we are stressing this year in getting the word out is: this is a NON THROWING event, sometimes people see the title and shy away since they are shut down for the winter. That's ok, no baseballs will be thrown at this clinic.

I am waiting for permission to share his name, but we had a high school senior at the clinic last year who had dropped about 12-14 mph off his fastball and was experiencing discomfort. After this clinic and some follow up visits with Architech Sports and Physical Therapy, he regained the velocity and signed to play Division 1 baseball at conclusion of the spring season. That was very neat to see.

    Coach, email me, [email protected]

It's coming up this weekend. This a must-do clinic to attend. You were learn how to prevent many injuries that occur in HS players. Alan Tyson is simply the best in his business...and a hard person to reach because he is so busy.

And Mike Shildt?......he's even harder to reach than Alan Tyson. To have both of these guys at the same time in the same place has to be a first. As mentioned, Mike has been with the Cardinals organization for some time, as a manager of their minor league team. But Mike also is responsible for their minor league spring training in Jupiter. You need to record whatever Mike says...it may be the most informative you will ever receive.

There are many outstanding clinics going on this season, but in my opinion, this has to be at the top of the list.
