    In Area 1 West action,

Garner advances with a 12-0 win over Apex to win the series, 3-1.

They await the Durham Post 7/Roxboro Post 138 winner.

Area 1 East has the two Pitt County teams battling each other, while Edenton and Wilson are playing one another. BTW, Edenton beat Wilson 27-21 in last night's game.

Kannapolis scored 4 run after two outs in the bottom of the 9th to win the series 3-2.

    KANNAPOLIS 7
    ROWAN 6
Of all things a hit batter with the bases loaded brought in the winning run.

    Kannapolis will host Kernersville Thursday.

What a game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Great comeback win for the Wojans.A bad hop to the second baseman for Rowan with two outs in the bottom of the 9th kept the inning going. The baseball gods are looking out for the Wojans.

The ump behind the plate was terrible. He called two pitches on Seager each a foot outside. When Seager swung at the next pitch also a foot outside he mumbled something on the way back to the bench and was thrown out of the game.He will miss the opener against Kernersville.

BTW.....Brian Little saved the Wojans monday night at Rowan.Great job IC!!!!!!!!!!

    Cherryville 4-3 over Newell
    Cherryville wins series 3-1

    Tyler Kirtpatrick 1-4 rbi
Derek Blanton 2-4 2 doubles, run scored
Matt Robinson took the loss but pitched a great game going 7 2/3rds

    Cherryville good hitting team.
Newell was without 3-4 starters for the series but played hard...

    Kannapolis Post 501 - 7 Rowan County - 6

    What an emotionally draining series.

Aaron Lynch who had come in for the ejected Kyle Seager (the first time that's ever happened in Kyle's career I'll wager) gets hit with a pitch to force in the winning run and win the series. Jake Faggart was 2-4 with a double and a RBI. Kyle Seager has 2-4 with a HR and 2 RBI. Brett Honeycutt with 2 BIG RBIs in the 9th. Hats off to the underrated Ryan Wildrick who provided some great defense and clutch hitting during this series and again to Bryan Little for his gutsy performance in Game 4.

Brett Hatley played played his tail off tonight (3-4, 2B, 3 RBI, 2 runs scored) for Rowan County only to be the tough luck loser in the 9th because of a bad hop at 2nd (he had struck out 4 in just 1 2/3 innings before the fireworks started). He and starting pitcher Cy Young (7 innings - 10 strike-outs) pratically carried their team on their shoulders tonight.

    Rowan Co. 200 101 020 -6 11 1
    Kannapolis 100 101 004 -7 8 0

Kannapolis gets only a day's rest before Thursday night's match-up.
