I posted this in the 4A thread too.

North Davidson 4 Greensboro Page 0

Clay Watson threw an impressive 3 hit complete game. I don't think he hit or walked a batter. This is his 2nd 3 hitter in a row (last week vs. East Rowan).

Page was gritty, but made a couple of key errors that broke the game open. North plays at home Friday vs. the winner of East Rowan/Davie. Keeping it in the conference....

    Ragsdale 3

Ragsdale let this one slip away. Led 3-0 into the sixth. SWG scored two in the sixth and two in the 7th for the win. Catlin Carter pitched all 7 to take the loss (9-3) on the season. Warren Slack got the start after pitching 7 last Friday. Blake McCraw pitched the last 2.2 for SWG getting the win in relief.

It was a another classic game between these two rivals. I'll post some more later.

    Also another score

    SE Guilford 10
    Parkland 0 5 innings

    Hickory beat Foard 4-3.

    Hickory 4 Fred T Foard 3 8 innings

A whale of a game tonight!

Hickory got up early 2-0 but Aaron King hit a two run single and Andrew Wyant drove in the go ahead run in the 3rd - I think - for the Tigers. The score remained 3-2 until Derik Boliek led off the top of the 7th with a solo HR off Aaron King. Later in the inning, King was replaced by Chad Rothlin with two runners on. Rothlin got two outs to get out of that inning.

Foard didn't answer in the bottom of the 7th. Evan Felton led off the top of the 8th with a solo HR for Hickory. Foard went 3 up, 3 down in the eighth. Greg Baker got the win in relief pitching 5 1/3 outstanding innings. Chad Rothlin took the loss in relief.

Electing twice not to sacrifice bunt, Foard hit into two double plays that were big momentum changers.

Good luck to Hickory (17-7) the rest of the way.

    Glenn 9 Piedmont 5

Piedmont picked a bad time to play their worst game of the year. 7 errors led to their undoing. Congratulations to Glenn and good luck. Congratulations to the 7 Piedmont seniors, it was a fun ride. Three straight conference titles ain't too shabby.

I just want to thank my team for a great year. A conference co-championship and a playoff win are something to be proud of. We will miss our 3 seniors: Zack Johnson, Justin Bullock, and Timmy Smith. Their four years were marked by hard work, great attitude, and strong leadership. They will be sorely missed.

Good luck to everyone still left in the playoffs.
