    Independence 3 N. Davidson 2

Robby Bray was back on the bump today after only throwing 62 pitches against North Forsyth. Independence brought their bats to the game tonight going up early 3-0 after 2. There look to be no stop in Indy but they had a few base running mistakes that cost them a few runs. North Davidson made it interesting in the bottom of the 3rd when a few "missed calls" by the umpires and 2 doubles made it 3-2. An exciting play in the game was when Indy CF Shayne Miller robbed a homerun to center to end the 4th and keep the 3-2 lead. Aaron Bray came in to releave his brother in the bottom of the 5th and got out of a key jam. It was a very good game but I believe the umpiring was very shaky but theres nothing you can do about that. Indy ended up with about 10 hits and should've scored more than 3 if it weren't for the baserunning mistakes. Indy will play the winner of West Forsyth and Person on Tuesday. Leading hitters for Indy were Cooke 2-3 2B, Shayne Miller 2-2 2B, Simmons 2-2, Taylor 1-2 2B.

North Davidson started a pitcher that pitched JV all year, then brought in a reliever that is a freshman. They played really well to hold them to just 3 runs. Person and West play to see who plays Indy. I guess Robby Bray will be on the hill for that game?!

The first round game went 10 innings ... they may have burned most of their pitchers on tuesday, which would make it difficult to come back on thursday on very short rest.

The Ace pitched 10 innings on Tuesday. They have started a lefty freshman all year. They brought up a freshman righty to pitch. I think since Indy had so many right handed hitters they started him (only gave up 2 runs) and then brought in the freshman lefty (gave up 1 run). They pitched well and got outs when needed. They are thin however!

GBacks21 - Not that I am not glad, (since we can catch some of it after we play) but how is Providence at home since the SW4A had last seed throughout the tourney(I thought) Or am I as usual missing something? Splain it to me Lucy...
