South Meck 7 East Meck 3

I have some details of the game even though I was asked to sit outside the fence to watch the remainder of the game....long story, we can get into that later.

The 4th time is the charm...South Meck finally got some timely hits against very tough East Meck pitching. Reid Rollison went 2-4 with 2 doubles driving in 2 runs. David Rubinstein was also 2-4 with 2 RBI, Jonathan Ratledge went 1-3 with a RBI, Chase Austin was 1-4 with a RBI, Brad Marren went 1-2, Ryan Morris and Zack Kennedy both were 1-3.

South continued with strong pitching with Ryan Morris picking up the win going 4 1/3 inn striking out 8 giving up 2 hits and 2 runs and Matt Andress coming in and slamming the door once again to pick up the save going 2 2/3 striking out 1 allowing 1 run and 1 hit.

This sets up a great match up Tuesday night with one of the best rivalries in the State....SOUTH MECK vs PROVIDENCE...should be an electric crowd and atmosphere.

Hoggard won on a passed ball in

the sixth. Also heard the Hoggard team showed their tails the entire game with very poor sportsmanship. The Scotland folks I know were really upset at the behavior. They are pulling for Lumberton bigtime on Tuesday.

Sorry so Late with this one.... lots going on this weekend with my daughter's birthday party and family coming in for her 5th grade graduation...

    PER- 001 050 0 -- 6 8 1
    WF - 221 030 x -- 8 6 2

    WP - Chad Jarvis Soph/LHP (2.2 IP, 0 Runs, 0 Hits, 4 K's, 0 BB's)
    LP - Daniel Walker SR/RHP

    Leading Hitters:
    WF - Tyler Manring (2-3, 2 RBI), Nick Siega-Riz (1-4), Greg Holt (1-4), Matt Sapp (1-2), Jeff Guerrie (1-2)

PER- Blake Bowes (1-3, HR, RBI), Chase Abel (1-3), Blaine NEwton (1-3, 2B), Jacob Newton, (1-4, 2B, 2 RBI), Robbie Byrd (1-3), Jerrod Moore (1-4)

Lots of tears were shed on the field Friday night, after a hard fought game by both teams. West had a 4-0 lead going into the top of the 3rd when Blake Bowes hit a solo HR to get the Rockets on the board. IN the top of the 5th, the Rockets chased starting LHP Dusty Snow and another reliever, scoring 5 runs before LHP reliever Chad Jarvis entered the game and kept us off balance with his ability to change speeds and locate his pitches. West Forsyth played really well and executed well at the plate and on the bases, keeping pressure on our defense and pitching the whole game, they battled as did our kids, and were able to come out on top in this game.

Hat's off to Randy Pope and his Titans.

Its's always sad to end the seasonwith a loss, but I can not be any more proud of a group of plkayers than I am of these. After the game, there were plenty of hugs and tears, because these young men mean so much to me. We are losing 8 seniors (Chase Abel, Blake Bowes, Travis Brooks, Daniel Walker, Blaine Newton, Jacob Newton, Marcus Penick, and JD Coates). These fine young men contributed alot to the success of our program over the past 4 years and I am forever grateful.

Good luck to the Titans in the playoffs against Independence.
