#3 East Surry vs #9 Mount Airy

    This afternoon in a game between two top western clubs East Surry defeated Mount Airy by the score of 2-1. MA took an early lead on a gargantuan solo shot to right center by Kourtney Wagoner. After East tied the game 1-1 on a fielder's choice play. ES catcher Paige Honeycutt hits a solo blast that gives East a 2-1 lead. MA catcher Sarah Harris hit a towering shot down the left field line that fell just short of tieing the game in the 6th and Watson after giving up a lead off single to Wagoner in the 7th shut the door. Congrats to both Wagoner and Watson on well pitched games. Mount Airy proved today that they are a serious contender to make it to Raleigh.

    Tough Conference

    That conference looks very tough. East Surry ranked #3, Mt. Airy ranked #10, North Stokes honorable mention, plus looks like West Wilkes may be ranked soon. West Wilkes knocked off East Surry 2-1. The WW / Mt. Airy game should be a great one. That conference looks to be full of good young players.
