tj, the east is wide open. You're going to see alot of close games Tuesday night, & I expect that some of the so-called favorites (by seeding) will continue to fall. The upper half of the east still has E. Wayne, Currituck, Aycock, Hunt, S. Central, S. Wayne, and West Brunswick. Any one of these teams can navigate their way to the Eastern finals. If I had to pick one team out of this group, it would be Southern Wayne. They seem to be peaking at the right time. It's wide open thou.
Bottom-half of the bracket is the same way. Gray's Creek & NE Guilford are two of the favorites, and have to play each other on Tuesday night.

There's just no clear-cut favorite in the east. Anybody could win it.

    Southern Wayne 4
    West Brunswick 5

Southern Wayne scored 2 runs in the top of the 1st on 2 hits and 2 walks. After that, Ryan Caison (jr) escaped jams and limited Southern Wayne to 5 hits until he was pulled in the top of the 6th. In the top of the 7th, Taylor Brock hit a massive 2 run homerun to make the score 4-0 and it seemed that West Brunswick season was over. In the bottom of the 7th with 1 out, Khalil Gause reached base and advance to 2nd on a single by Landon Tilley. Dustin Darguzas followed with an RBI single. (4-1 SW) With runners on 1st and 3rd, Hunter Howard hit a bloop single to center to score a run and moved to 2nd on the throw to put the tying run on 2nd with 1 out. Chandler Taylor came up and worked the count to 3-2 and laced a hard ground ball to the shortstop to put West Brunswick down 4-3 with the tying run 90 feet away. Jesse Simmons stepped to the plate and battled and hit a 1-2 pitch down the 3rd base line right over the base to tie the game and put himself on 2nd. Erick Hill stepped to the played and with a 2-2 count, Jesse Simmons took off for 3rd and Erick Hill hit the ball right where the 3rd baseman would be playing. Jesse leaped over the ball and as he rounded 3rd fell down. He got up quickly and scampered home for the winning run. West Brunswick scored 5 runs in the bottom of the 7th to win the game.

Starting pitcher for Southern Wayne, Jeremy Taylor, was very very good. He beat up the West Brunswick bats for 6 solid innings. West made some timely adjustments late on him for what proved to help West Brunswick win the game.

    WP: Landon Tilley
    LP: Jeremy Taylor

West Brunswick will host the winner of the Wilson Hunt/South Central game Friday

Long trips ahead for Aycock & Hunt in Round 3. Aycock has pulled off a couple of upsets on the road already, so I wouldn't bet against them in round 3. West Brunswick & Hunt should be a real good tossup-type of game also. NE Guilford looks good to me in the bottom half of the east. (probadly just jinxed them)

Eastern Alamance is hot on the bottom half...I see them and Northeast Guilford going at it next Tuesday. I also see CB Aycock pulling another upset on the road
