    Wilson Hunt 13 Washington 1

Alex Nguyen got the W! w/ 2 innings of work, but Avery Harper & Ches Lamm also got some mound duty as the Warriors pitched by committee on Thursday night. Washington could only muster up 2 hits on the night.

    Hunt had 13 hits overall & was led by Jacob Page (3-4 w/ a homer), Avery Harper (2-3 w/ a homer & a double), & Parker Lamm (2-3 w/ 3 ribbees).

Hunt's record now stands at 20-4 & they move on to face Eastern Wayne Tuesday night.

Rocky Mount 4 Hertford county 0

Benton Moss gets the W! 19 K's! (31st career victory for the Gryphons!)

Moss & Andy Morris had RBI singles for Rocky Mount & the Gryphons scored 2 more on a error by the Hertford County 2nd baseman in the 4th for all the Gryphon scoring.
Brandon Warren did a respectable job for Hertford County, holding Rocky Mount to only 4 hits, but the Hertford batters couldn't lay a bat on a Moss pitch when they needed to with runners in scoring position, and once again Rocky Mount gets the shutout.
Rocky Mount's record now stands at 17-8 & they next take on the winner of tonight's C.B. Aycock-West Carteret game on Tuesday night.

Big East 3-0 on Opening Night!

    Nash Central 11 Jacksonville 10

Trellis Ashley gets the W!, and Jeremy Sloop gets the save (I think)

Nash Central records it's first playoff victory in school history according to the Rocky Mount Telegram.

Alot of hitting by the Bulldogs: Dillon Moore (2 hits), Khalil Macklin (2 hits), Jalen Hendricks (3 hits), Jordan Taylor (3 hits w/ a homer), & Jeremy Sloop (homered).

as Stretchy predicted, Nash Central (19-6) gets the upset & moves on to host North Lenoir (17-8), who Stretchy also predicted would be an upset winner, in the second round Tuesday night.

    This one got my attention:

    Union Pines 18 Ledford 17

Lets not mention the pitching in this game.

Seth Breassealle (3-4 w/ 2 homeruns, double, 10 ribbees), led Union Pines at the plate, while Justin Allred, Noble Davis, Keaton Thomas, & Carson Kelly (2-runner) all chipped in homeruns to help the cause.

Union Pines led 15-0 after 3 innings & held off a Ledford rally at the end.

Union Pines (18-7) next travels to Chapel Hill (19-5) for a 2nd round meeting.

    DH Conley 1 - Southern Wayne 0 (8 Innings)

Jordan Deloatch goes all 8 innings, giving up 1 hit, striking out 16. He also had a walkoff single in the bottom of the 8. Conley only managed 4 hits off Southern Wayne pitcher Jeremy Taylor.

Conley will play Currituck on Tuesday. I'm unsure of the location, but I believe it will be at Conley according to the seeding priority.

    Deloatch rescues Conley!

    D.H. Conley 7 Currituck 6 (12 innings)

Jordan Deloatch got his second win of the playoffs w/ 8 more innings of work Tuesday night. Deloatch relieved Ryan Gupton in the 4th w/ Conley trailing 6-2. Deloatch struck out 19 while Conley rallied.

Ryan Gupton's walkoff hit drove in Damien Jenkins w/ the winning run in the bottom of the 12th.

In 2 playoff games, Deloatch has won both games & struck out 35 in 16 innings of work.

Conley will now host Eastern Wayne in a 3rd round matchup Friday night.
