    West Ragsdale vs N Gaston

East DH Conley vs S Alamance

should be two great series. I don't know much about N Gaston

but on an intersting note - Ragsdale has only lost two games all season - the pitcher that started and took both losses was senior Brandon Phelps ( he also won five games this year and scored the winning run against SWG on a stolen base and throwing error now this is a big kid TE and DE going to play football at WCU but still has speed) and also

Ragsdale has already faced and beaten DH Conley and S Alamance this season. These are two very good teams that played tough schedules and also both happen to be defending state champions . Now who happened to be the starting pitcher in both those wins? Brandon Phelps. So while he took some tough losses he also won some big games.

And his base stealing is a great example of Coach Maness' aggresive base running - I love that he doesn't sit back and play small ball. Hope he gets his ring this year - he and his brother are certainly deserving.

and here are a couple of writeups of those two wins - one mine and one a link ( one of the free ones, on IMPACT)

    well...

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

11-1 in 6 innings seems to be the score of the day.

    Ragsdale 11
    S. Alamance 1 6 innings

not alot of details. Brandon Phelps got the start and win for Ragsdale. Ragsdale goes to 9-0 on the season with a huge game Friday night at arch rival and 5th ranked Eastern Randolph. ER's power against Ragsdale's pitching. Should be a great game.

    Box Score

    S Alamance.. 000 100 - 1 3 3
    Ragsdale ..... 104 321 -11 15 0
    W: Brandon Phelps (2-0) L: John Crawford
    Leaders: S Alamance - Thomas Sappelt 1-2, 2B, RBI. Ragsdale - Trevor Mullins - 3-3, 2 RBIs, Nathan Cash - 3-4, 2Rs, Ben Vestal - 2-2, 4Rs, Brent O'Berry - 1-3, 3 RBIs.

Wossa,,, you know we both watched Ragsdale back on that cold windy day in February and said that the Tigers had a very good chance to win it all. They've been my team to beat in 3A all year. Not only do they have the horse in Trevor, but they just have so much else.

Other teams had a shot of upsetting the Tigers in a one-game out situation, but since its 2 outta 3 from here on, Ragsdale's just got too much.

Beware of Conley...they may throw Alex White every game; like Aubrey Edens last year

There is absolutely no way I would ever bet against Wossa's team. I hope Ragsdale gets an opportunity to play them.

But I'm sure we can come up with something else for that Hot Dog challenge

they rode edens last year and will be prepared to do the same thing this year. he will probably pitch and hit a HR in every game like he has been doing latly. not to take away from the rest of the conley team.....but alex white will carry them by himself.

That is so true..Alex is talented enough to do that. But it scares me when a coach rides a pitcher. I think Edens is still suffering from what he did last year, pitching wise

Braves the support is greatly appreciated. Ragsdale hit White pretty good when they played but it was early and he was still rusty. Mullins pitched a bunch of innings this year for Ragsdale but it was more due to the stiff league competition. He had to throw alot deep into games just so Ragsdale could get a playoff spot.

Maness rested him and didn't throw him in the conference tournament which he got some grief for but he knew the playoffs was where it counted and the two weeks rest gave some new life to Mullins arm.

I don't think he could pitch three days in a row - but luckily Ragsdale has a very good number two starter in Carter. Hope he pitches well tonight at N Gaston
