    Hey guys,
Help me out here. Being a parent of one of the West Rowan boys i guess i have a biased opinion here. Some of you seem to have alot of baseball knowledge and thats exactly what im looking for.
From the comments i have read it seems like there isn't much of a chance for West Rowan to win the conference. Could some of you (with knowledge) advise me on why West Rowan isn't a favorite to win the conference? From what ive seen West seems to have a pretty good team. But there again i have a son playing,,,,maybe
i simply don't see the shortfalls of the team like others do. Your comments are appreciated. Is it really between Northwest Cabarrus and K-Town?

well.. i guess you need to get more west rowan fans involved .

My opinion was based on my feelings towards my team, but scroll back to one of the posts i made i did mention not to count WR out .

You wont find a fan of another school pull for WR more than me, i have high hopes for several of the WR players.

I will try and do that Intimidator Coach! I don' gouge but since you do let's set the record straight.

The last time i checked West is 2-0 against YOUR team!
That means West wins 2,K-Town wins 0.

By the way if you get the paper maybe it says the same as mine. West is in first place in the conference not K-Town!

Also in my thread if you will read it, it states that i was looking for comments from people (With Knowledge)!

Let's keep this clean Big Guy! NO GOUGEING! I don't need it;i am looking for intelligent people with baseball knowledge to comment. Not a bunch of one sided SARCASM. There will be more West Rowan fans involved (IF) they get to play K-Town again i can assure you of that. No need for a response Intimidator Coach; the record speaks for itself! Have a good day!

    North Piedmont Conference....

Looks like we have a pissing contest going on here!!! Move over and let me in!!!

We all know that the regular season title is coming down to the final meeting between Northwest Cabarrus/West Rowan. Both of those teams are very talented and both deserve all the recognition that they are getting. Just so "some of you West Rowan fans" know, I've been singing West Rowan's song to all these Charlotte posters all spring before the season started when outsiders didn't even know who West Rowan was. So yes, I respect West Rowan. West has "one" of the best hitting teams in the league, a very good defense and strong pitching. I think you can most definitely go deep into the state playoffs with that combination.

As for Northwest Cabarrus, all you have to say is Lucas Dalton. Because of him, they are very capable of beating anybody on any given day. I'm just not sure how far they can advance in the state playoffs. Goodman is a very strong #2 pitcher, but I'm not sure if he can actually shut down good hitting teams in the playoffs. Also, NW hits the ball well, but I'm not sure I've seen the "pop" in their bats that I've seen from West Rowan. With that said, I'll take Northwest in one game anyday, but I'm not sure if they are strong enough to advance deep into the playoffs. The Ketner (soph-p) kid impressed me a lot last week in the Easter tournament and he may be called on in key playoff innings for the Trojans.

And of course because both of these teams are so loaded with talent, both ABSOLUTELY have to be the favorites to win our NPC tournament.

As for the "OTHER" NPC teams and the conference tournament,,, well yes I've got to put in a plug for the good-guys (Kannapolis). My boys have NOT beaten West Rowan or Northwest this year, but we've made West bring in Adams "AND" Link during both of our games with them losing only 9-7 and 13-12. We also could've very easily beaten NW last week (losing 2-0). With 13 wins this season so far, I think Kannapolis has proved that they are a very dangerous team and I don't think anybody will be tickled to play them in a tournament situation. Kannapolis is young and yes they've made critical mistakes at the wrong times, but they've also played very well improving as the season has went along, and the young pitching just looked great in 3 games last week too, so who knows. I "COULD" see Kannapolis in the NPC tournament championship game with a young pitcher that nobody ever heard of, and I could see Kannapolis doing well too. Theres just "something" about this Kannapolis team that the boys are playing with a lot of confidence, despite their youth.

Also Mooresville, don't leave these guys out. With Lackey and Haire pitching, Mville can play with anyone. Right now, Mville has the inside track to the 3rd playoff spot because Mville has been more consistent than Kannapolis. Mville simply has to be considered a longshot for the tournament title also. I just haven't seen enough of Mville to comment anymore on them.

Nobody else in this league has a prayer to win the conference tournament this year. Thats my take...

Thanks Wufman for the reply. I appreciate your evaluation of the top teams. NW, Mville, K-Town, and West. Your coments have opened my eyes and pointed out some very important facts and issues that i failed to see. Whatever the outcome of the Conference Tournament im sure we can all agree there will be some great games played. Congradulations to all of the players and parents of these teams. There will be more than a few nails bitten off before the year is through.

Hopefully, some of the players on the kannapolis team that were there last year will remember what happened in there last game last year in the playoffs and use that as fuel to get back to that point and go farther. Some gotitall has to step up.

Wufman....Your accessment of the TOP four teams is RIGHT ON. Except I believe NWC pitching can do well in the playoffs. You said that we may not do well against " GOOD" hitting teams down the road. I thought they did very well against a VERY good hitting team (THE WONDERS) Wednesday night at Fieldcrest by shutting them out. I can not remember the last time the Wonders have been held scoreless. Like you mentioned in your post they scored 7 runs and 12 runs against TWO of the best pitchers in the league in Adams and Link and was on a roll coming into that game. So I think they can hold there on. With that said good luck tomorrow against Mooresville..Hopefully we can take care of North Iredell to night..Should be a GREAT game tomorrow also Falcon dad..
