    Lot of big names missing after all those upsets in Round 1. Locally, there are 3 big games on Tuesday that will be a lot of fun........ NW vs Carson, HR vs MP and Wedd vs Catholic.

    Weddington Advances

    Weddington wins 2-1 over CC. Close ball game all night. CC has some solid hits, but couldn't push the runs across.

    Weddington had a real good outing by Collins. Collins pitched well and could not get the calls for the low strike. At times it seemed as though the man in blue wasn't paying attention. Not many in attendance were very impressed with the calls from behind the plate.

    Collins with the win. gave up 1 run on 3 hits.
    Alex Bostic closed out the 6th and 7th to earn the save

    Jeremy Schellhorn with RBI double early in the game. Followed later by a well executed hit and run with Payden Honeycutt at first by David Pope. Honeycutt took third on the hit and run and two plays later Honeycutt stole home on a double steal to go ahead 2-1 for good.

    Jordan Acetta pitched very well in the loss for Catholic. Chris Clare was unbelievable at ss with two plays (one in the 5 hole and one behind second base) that very few HS SS's make.

    Great game, huge crowd, great fans, fun atmosphere and good win for Weddington.

    Carson at Northwest baseball game is cancelled for tonight. Will be played tomorrow at 630 but the site is yet to be determined, stay tuned.
