    Ok lets post 3rd round scores here.

    Third round in Area 3 begins tonight July 13....

    North Division#6 Kernersville (17-11) at South Division#1 Kannapolis (25-7)
    South Division#2 Stanly County (22-6) at North Division#1 Randolph County (25-9)

    (Both semifinal series are best of 5, with 2 survivors meeting in Area finals next week to determine state tournament bid)

    Only rumors,,,,,,,,,,, I've heard HP tried to back out of the state tournament and allow Area 3's second team to take their place, but "someone" won't let them back out. Again, this is just rumor, but it sounds like HP will be there. I've actually seen the 1st round pairings and the host team is scheduled to play the Area 1 champion the 4th game of the 1st day.

    We will watch closely to see if anything changes.

    State tournament 1st day schedule:
    10am-Area 4 runnerup vs. Area 2 champ
    1pm- Area 4 champ vs. Area 2 runnerup
    4pm- Area 3 champ vs. Area 1 runnerup
    7pm- Area 1 champ vs. host team

    Thanks Tj for the information! Sounds like the Area 1 champion is going to have a huge advantage if things hold form. I would imagine they could save their good pitchers until the 2nd and 3rd rounds.

    Rain delay at Kannapolis....tied 3-3 bottom of the fourth.

    Game has been called now.Both teams have agreed to pick it up in the bottom of the fourth tomorrow night.Brian Little was leading off the bottom of the fourth for Kannapolis when the game was called.He had a 3-1 count.Game will be picked up there as a suspended game if Area commish agrees.

    The word I have heard is the commisioner will not let them back out even if they have to forfeit due to lack of players................
