Corbin Shive earns the win after throwing six strong for the Mustangs. Some errors and wild pitches did in the Wildcats in and as soon as East jumped on top, it was for good and LN knew it. Good run by LN to make it this far. Looks like East gets another NPC foe in Mooresville.

East Rowan defeated Lake Norman tonight 8-0. If earlier posts are correct, it seems Moorsville skipped Aubrey Meadows turn in the rotation. Were they looking ahead to a match-up with the Mustangs and saving their ace? Gutsy move, if so, because it was his turn, right?

    West Region 3A Game Scores

    RS Central 4
    Olympic 1

Winning Pitcher: 2008 (Appalachian State) Ryan Arrowood (10-0)

Losing Pitcher: 2009 Corey Roberts (6-3)

Not in attendance so no details but report is both pitchers threw great games with Roberts receiving a little less defensive support.

Olympic exits the play offs after setting an all time school wins record.

    East Rowan 8
    Lake Norman 0

Winning Pitcher: 2009 Corbin Shive (10-0)

    Losing Pitcher: Nick Lomascola

Again not in attendance so no details.

Mooresville started Ian Walters (2 innings), then brought in Chris Bonaventure for 2 and finished with Meadows. Great pitching by all 3 pitchers. Ian and Bonaventure did their jobs, lasting 4 innings for Meadows to finish it out. Mooresville playing with tons of heart right now. Glenn 3rd baseman and left fielder made 5 tremendous plays with runners in scoring position to stop Mooresville from punching in at least 3 more runs. Great enthusiastic crowd on had for Glenn and Mooresville. Glenn was a gracious host. Way to go Mooresville. Battle with East Rowan on Tuesday. GO DEVILS

    JH Rose 15 Lumberton 3 (5 innings)

Will look forward to seeing Leesville in Greenville Tuesday.

Rose hit everything Lumberton could toss at them... and hard. Sprayed the field...hard hit ground balls through the infield, gappers, backside, pulls, back up the box. A few errors on behalf of Lumberton, but simply would not have made a difference in the outcome. Wilder pitched well enough to keep Lumberton off the bases...and when they did get on, was able to get out of it (several great pickoffs and solid bunt coverage to douse the lead runner).

Big crowd. I think the Lumberton fans mighta been shell shocked by the end of the second and definately in the third as Rose continued to pound and score. Reserves platooned in the fourth and continued with the hitting.

Thanks for the hospitality in Lumberton and now on to Tuesday!

    AK Wins

AK is a 7-3 winner over North Meck. It was a good game (at least I think so being an AK fan).

    Go Knights!

No they were not looking ahead at all. Aubrey and Beav both had to pitch in the West Rowan game Tuesday night. Mooresville pitched by committee as planned by the coaching staff tonight. They had a strategy to use Walters and Bonaventure and needed 4 innings out of them and it worked. Congrats Devils.

East Rowan will probably see Meadows and Beav and the rest of Mooresville if needed for this big game. They will probably even throw Scotty if needed....
