    Probably needs a new thread, but during the 5th inning when the Jordan batter got hit in the back one of the base umpires had called a balk during the pitch. They only allowed the runner to advance to second and insisted that the batter could not advance to first. Was this the correct call? Be sure on this one!

    pretty sure balk is a dead ball, so that would have been the correct call

    Most people think that, I was so surprised that Coach Bell didnt come out his shoes. It was 2-0 and he would have had the tying run at 1st with one out. Instead the batter struck out and the runner at second never advanced as the next batter grounded out I believe.

    The pitcher delivers the pitch from Set Position without coming to a stop. PENALTY: The ball is dead, and each runner shall advance one base without liability to be put out, unless the batter reaches first on a hit, an error, a base on balls, a hit batter, or otherwise, and all other runners advance at least one base, in which case the play proceeds without reference to the balk

    Rocky Mount and Fike both won tonight by 3-1 scores over South Johnston and South Granville. They will now meet again on Tuesday. Baseball Britt is on cloud 9.
