49ers in the tournament

Charlotte will be in the Columbia, SC Region after winning the Atlantic 10 Tournament. Charlotte will play NC State at 2:00 PM on Friday with host South Carolina playing Wofford in the nightcap. This is Charlotte's first appearance since 1998.

wonder if NCSU's Andrew Brackman will see action at the Columbia regional ? see other post on "The Next Level" for more info in case you haven't been paying attention.

 

I really like Charlotte's chances in this region. If they get the pitching and defense that they have gotten all year and the middle of the lineup can produce a few runs, they are going to be tough. I'm making the trip down on Sunday and would love to see a SC/UNCC final! Should be a fun weekend.

 

With Adam Mills on the bump I'd go with UNCC in any game.

Congratulations 49er's.....BTW, ignore those USC hicks, they are one of the best hecklers.

 

Obviously, he is having arm troubles, but it appears they are guarding the details like Fort Knox. I hope it is just tendonitis and will be ready to throw soon.

COLUMBIA, S.C. – Righthanded pitcher Andrew Brackman is not on NC State’s 25-man roster for the Columbia, S.C., Regional and will not pitch this weekend for the Wolfpack. Brackman, who has been sidelined since mid-May with mild inflammation in his right elbow, threw a brief bullpen session at Doak Field at Dail Park on Wednesday before the NC State team left for Columbia. He still experienced discomfort with the elbow, and head coach Elliott Avent decided that Brackman would be best served by not pitching this weekend.
“After Andrew experienced continued discomfort in his elbow during yesterday’s bullpen session, I made the decision not to jeopardize his future by trying to pitch in this weekend’s regional,” Avent said. “We would love to have him available this weekend, but I just don’t believe it would be in his best interests. If we advance, we certainly hope to have Andrew available for the Super Regional next weekend and beyond.”
Brackman, who is 6-4 with a 3.81 ERA, made his last appearance May 12 at Virginia.

 

This really has to be hurting his draft stock. Hopefully its not REAL serious
