    I'm scared!

Thanks JM15 - I think. Is this what you meant when you said that if Sanderson kept winning you would see them down the road?

It takes a team to win games and both SHS and AK have been playing well as a team. I am sure that if AK is missing some players others would love the opportunity to show what they have to offer. Remember, AK was in the finals last year and lost two close games to Rose.

SHS is hitting its stride and is playing with a lot of confidence. Players that you don't normally expect to make a difference have and will continue to do so.

Lets hope the weather copperates in Raleigh and lets see some competitive baseball at Doak Field.

    Go Spartans!

    Way to Go!

A lot has been made about the lack of baseball tradition at Sanderson. As a member of the 1992 team that lost to Glenn in the finals, I hope that the Spartans can turn the culture around in Raleigh. Good Luck Spartans.

Am thinking this will go 3 games. Fans WILL get their monies worth. Sanderson in the first game, AK in the second game and the third game goes to....

,,,,, the team who doesn't commit the errors. LOL... I really think it's too close to call, but the drive across town to play has to give you an edge... but AK counters that with a chip on their shoulder, having been there last year and the motivation of playing for two injured (?) teammates...

The only thing for sure, is there will be a new State Champion!! LOL

Just too close to call for me! Good luck to both and have FUN!

Both teams and supporters must be keeping things close to the vest...not much is being said.

    First game is Important

Since 1970, the winner of the 1st game in the 4A Championship Series has gone on to win the title 36 out of 39 times!

Only 3 schools have won the opening game & then lost the championship:

1973: North Mecklinburg (lost to Rocky Mount)
1987: A.C. Reynolds (lost to Broughton)
2006: South Caldwell (lost to Scotland)
