GH advances in 4A-East

GH wins their first round match-up against Northern Durham (10-0). To say Will Gilbert pitched well would be an understatement as he threw a no-hitter (ended after 5). However, the baseball Gods sometimes shine in these instances as Northern Durham's one good chance for a hit quickly turned to a double play as, with a man on first, Northern attempts to steal, moving the SS to the middle, right where the batter hits a hard grounder (6-3, DP) that the SS would not have gotten to otherwise. I believe everyone in the GH lineup had a hit, including the pinch-hitter. Overall, a very good day for GH and the Tri-9 at the start of the playoffs. Good luck to the other teams Friday night. See you 'round the diamond.
