    Surprising score

    I have to admit that I was a little surprised by the final score of the Millbrook-Lee County game. Not so much that Lee County won, but the run differential. Having played against 5 schools from the Tri-9 this season, I felt the conference was much stronger than the Cap 7 this year. I just thought with Millbrook playing at home and Abbott pitching that it would have been a much closer game.

    With Lee County pulling the upset, the Tri-9 has a chance to look very strong after the 1st round. But on the other hand, there's a chance still for the Tri-9 to choke. Even though the Tri-9 was very strong this spring, I am still surprised to see a 11-11 Apex team get in as a wildcard.

    Another Upset

    Saw on the NCHSAA site that Apex beat Riverside 9-0. Big night for the Tri-9. Broughton from the Cap 7 beat Durham Jordan, so the Cap 7 goes 2-2 in the first round.
