this is what i have seen it will look like: (correct me if i am wrong)

    Lumberton(18-9) at New Hanover(14-10)
    Pinecrest(19-4) at Greenville Rose(16-8)
    Richmond (18-6) at South View(17-6)
Cape Fear (19-6) at Scotland Co.(21-2)

    Broughton(18-5) at Durham Riverside(18-2)
    Cary(12-14) at Clayton(16-6)
    Garner(17-6) at Wakefield(15-5)
    Chapel Hill(15-9) at Fuquay-Varina(16-8)

Looks like Cape Fear(19-6),Richmond Co.(18-6), and West Johnston(18-6) could be the Wild Cards. Maybe Richmond at South View and Cape Fear at Scotland (according to someone else)

Also.....Scotland County and Pinecrest were supposed to have a one game playoff to see who would get the #1 seed from the conference. PC forfeited and now will come to Greenville it would appear.

The top half of those games DEFINATLY looks like the harder one and i would expect the eastern champion to come from there. The PC/ROSE game looks to be the best first round game (from the top games anyway.) The teams played ealier in the Crystal Coast Easter Classic with ROSE winning 6-0. The game was delayed because of weather and ROSE scored most of the runs off of errors before the game was postponed.........so many fans are looking for a rematch in better weather. I dont know much about the other teams except for Scotland County having a solid team and will most likly make some noise.

Broughton @ Riverside looks like the top matchup in the lower group you posted.

Pinecrest/Rose looks to be a very good game also. Has Ryan Graphael (sp) come back to play yet?

cary seems to be playing really well right now. they won their conf tourny in order to make the playoff. i dont know about either team but if cary won i think many would consider it an "upset".

Does anybody know anything about New Hanover? They won their conference but are only 13-11 overall. Must have played a heck of a nonconference schedule.

roserampant, how did Rose lose 8 games? the boys I know down east said that this could be a real real tough GR team, and while I am sure they are... what's up witht he 8 reg. season losses? that doesn't sound like Rose baseball to me? I'm not attacking or anything, but just seems like 8 L's for Rose is mighty high.

Cary could upset Clayton. But I'm sure Clayton will send their ace to the hill for Game 1, or will they save him for Rd 2? If they save him for Rd. 2 and Cary jumps on them early, it will be interesting. Cary's ace is heading to UNCW (Bryan Booth) and has been lights out at times this season. Wish I could make it, should be a great game down on Hwy 70 @ Clayton HS.

it is a "down year" for the RAMPANTS. 3 of the 8 losses came against west carteret (i think......2 conf games and then in the easter classic) one of the best teams in 3A. losses also came againts new bern, conley, havelock and washington i think in conf. losing ryan graeple before the season definatly hurt. he is a solid shortstop w/ a good bat. also pitched some last year. i dont know if he woulda been our ace but it he would have definatly helped. look for ROSE to bounce back strong in the next couple of years. the JV's just went undefeated, completly destroying about everyone they played. a lot of juniors will see the field next year and some of these sophmore pitchers have got some talent.
