Look at how pathetic and watered down the bracket is; a 10-0 team and two 9-1 teams all in the east side. Having 8 football champions is a joke.

It's extremely watered down. The true state champion is the 4AA winner.

Crest as a 10 seed may be the best team in the West in 4A.

The 4A west bracket is watered down in my opinion. Taking a look at the seedings, there is a good chance that we will see some lower seeded teams fall victim to the upset and in the first round.

4a brackets more than any other look bad because they play in conferences wehre often a school will have from 400 to 1000 more students. the larger schools should win and usually do. put the small 4a schools in a 1a confernce and they would dominate with the same student differential they face regularly

This football playoff system is a complete joke...but they're not going to reduce it back to what it was before. With that being the case, I do ask that the NCHSAA consider a change in the seeding.

Under no circumstances should a split/classification conference be allowed into the top half of the bracket and here's why...

    Look at 4A west...

    Big South 3A/4A:

    #3 Ashbrook (6-4)
    #10 Crest (7-3)

    QC 3A/4A:

    #14 Harding (6-4)

Ok, I wanna pick on the Big South in particular...Did Ashbrook win the Big South 3A/4A? That would be no...South Point won it and they ran the table (10-0). So, you have Ashbrook which I assume finished second or third in that conference. Why should they get better seeding priority over AC Reynolds who finished the #2 slot in the NW4A? To me that's a joke. Ashbrook must have finished a game higher than Crest in the conference but overall Crest finished one game better than Ashbrook. Yet Ashbrook is a #3 while Crest is a #10?

Here is my suggestion...only non-split conference winners (i.e. NW4A, SW4A, MECA 4A, METRO 4A, Central Piedmont 4A) can battle for the highest seeds. Then from that point, the team with the best overall record from a split-class conference (in my example it would be Crest) would be grouped with the 2nd best teams from the non-split conferences. And then from that point the other team from the split conf (i.e. Ashbrook) would work in with the #3's from the non-split. And then from that point all you would have left is Wild Cards seeded by overall record.
