All joking and sandbagging aside, I like Providence to win it all.

    All joking aside ....

To win it all, you have to have luck and some great arms. Wakefield is well positioned with their staff to make a deep run. Lumberton will be in a nice bracket. I like the bracket that North Forsyth is in.

The bottom half of the western bracket is murder this year. North/South/Providence/ACHS/South Caldwell/(Indy/Hopewell)/ACR/East ...

Whoever comes out of that bracket will HAVE to get some breaks along the way AND be playing good baseball. The matchups will be critical.

You are right about that !
5 of the current top ten teams in the state in the bottom half of the western bracket.
The team that can withstand that kind of fire should be well prepared to go all the way.
    Competition is a good thing.

I say Rose until someone can knock them off. Good arms, excellent fielders, and they know how to win the big game. Plus, they have Ronald Vincent.

When I think of the playoffs, I keep remembering the saying, "one and done". The one team that features the best pitching staff over all is North Meck. Three quality starters that have all pitched big games. Pitching usually determines how far a team goes.

I agree. They are the team to beat..but after Bullock, their pitching is not as strong as before. I'm not sure they will make the State's this year. A lot of great teams they are going to have to beat.

Just out of curiousity, how did Indy,PHS,SM & NM fare head to head with game scores this season ? Pitching is obviously important but I like teams who can hit good pitching. Who gave NM the most trouble ?

I'm guessing SM. They put up 10 in the first game. But both teams have improved since then.

I know that South/Providence both played Indy early on. Indy isn't the same team they were early on. They are just plain hard to beat right now.

Don't ignore Hopewell..... They started out 1-6.... The second round of conference play, they swept the conf going 7-0. They also gave South Meck two of their toughest games early in the season.

The matchups will be interesting. It will depend on who is on the mound any given night and how good their "stuff" and control is that night. All 5 of these teams can beat any one of the others. The key is going to be which team can put together good games back-back-back against tough competition.
