    Sidenote to start...

    Probably meaningless...
June 8, 2002 - 9 years ago, less 4 days - TC wins state title over Glenn.
    I know well - somewhat.
    See, I missed it.
I was walking down the aisle with my beautiful bride.
    Never saw the massacre.

So, will TC repeat 9 years later?

Told you it was meaningless... and I picked no winner.

    Well, here goes:
    Home is the key.
TC seems to struggle (if it can be called struggling) away from home.
That in mind - and that it will be much closer to home for Holly Springs - I'll take Holly Springs.:stirthepot:
From what I've heard/read, maybe Holly Springs pitching a little stronger.

    Disclaimer:
I have not seen either team.
My pick and a quarter will get you a couple of colored gum squares out of a turn-handle machine as you exit your local seafood restaurant. Nothing more.:vanish:

    TC

TC is a very good baseball team that is well coached in all aspects of the game. It's obvious that they compete and are battle tested as they have won many games this year, including some in the playoffs, late in games including several in their last at bat.

My concern with them is can they score enough runs away from their ballpark against the quality pitching Holly Springs will throw at them. It seems lately they have been scoring alot of their runs via the long ball. In their home park HRS are pretty easy to come by. I don't know what the dimensions of the Championship field is, but it has to be bigger than what they play on at home.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not taking anything away from TC. But I think they will have to score more runs W/O the HR. They are very capable of doing it.

I hope someone will give us some info on Holly Springs as I have heard nothing about them except they have 2 stud pitchers.

Holly Springs won the Eastern Regional without using their #1 pitcher at all. They have great depth in their bullpen as well. They can swing the bat too. Rodine and Manning two left handed hitters in batting 3-4 can hit it out of any ballpark. They play solid defense, and have played a tough conference schedule and played some tough teams in the playoffs. I favor them to win it, even if they do not sweep, I think their pitching will be better in 3 games, than anyone else I have seen in the state this year.

Holly Springs has stud pitching but their offense and defense have won them a ton of games as well that nobody speaks much about. 1-9, they hit the ball. The bottom of their order simply hits the ball. They don't necessarily hit for power but they are all tough outs. Defensively, they play good baseball. Well coached and play with a ton of energy. I know nothing about TC Roberson but I know they have the tradition. I'm biased but I am going with a 2-0 Holly Springs sweep.

I could go more in depth but I hate to do that to my boys at Holly Springs. Don't want to give you western boys any secret tips!

Good luck to both teams. Hope I can make it out there sometime this weekend.

:victoryg:..lol. I'm pulling for TC for the same reason that JM applies...loyalty to the area.

They won the 3A title with Cameron Maybin. It would be interesting to see them win the 4A title. There's some good baseball in them thar mountains

Holly Springs is a very deep team. Deep pitching and deep position players. Only weakness I've seen is their bats sometimes start slow. Its awefully hard to keep them in check for a full game. They have faced big time pitchers several times this year and have fared well.

The only thing I know about TCR is they are a very good team or they would not be here.
