I agree with BRAVES nomination for Chad Flack of East Rutherford as 2A player of the year. The UNC bound senior has hit .474 with 11 HR's and 36 RBI for the # 1 ranked Cavs (22-2). This despite being pitched to in a similar fashion as Barry Bonds sees with the Giants. He has 21 walks also and has hit most of his HR's on curveballs. He has also pitched sparingly with an ERA under 1.00 and played outstanding 3B and SS. This award would cap an oustanding high school career.

Four of the best players in my area:

    Matt Mangini 3B/1B/OF - Apex
Josh Horton - SS - Orange
    Daniel Hargrave - 2B - Orange
Jesse Lewter - LHP - Wakefield

There is obviously more than one player that deserves that honor. I agree the POY needs to be an impact player who is dangerous on the field or in the box. He also should be a player that has been able to take his team on his shoulders, if necessary.

One such would be Basham who in addition to his solid pitching stats also leads East Forsyth in most offensive categories with exception of stolen bases and maybe triples. Although his hitting days are numbered, he's been definitely a multi-dimensional player this season.
