I am an AK Supporter and try to hit as many events as possible. I find the comments interesting as I attended the 4th round soccer match at AK on Saturday. I saw almost the entire Providence baseball team cheering on the girls soccer team but only saw two AK baseball players. (I apologize if I missed someone). I did not see the other AK sports coaches in attendance either. My point is that you need to go to other events, makes some noise and expect them to show up for your game. New school, new traditions, alot of success and an administration that rules with a tight fist. I believe it will happen but not over night. Tuesday game should be terrific. I would like to see the football team, basketball team, cheerleaders etc come to the game. I would also like to see the baseball team attend other events and cheer as well. This is a great school that needs to look out for each other instead asking for the other sports to do something they are not doing themselves.

I agree with the poster about how it's a new school and we are building traditions, etc. My son plays baseball at AK and I have been to quite a few games where there was standing room only. (the bleachers don't support a whole lot of attendance, quite honestly). I have been to basketball and football games to show support. My son goes to as many of those as his schedule permits (and he only plays baseball). I don't think it's fair to say that the kids aren't doing their part...I thnk they are when they can. Not to mention, I know a lot of parents that come to the games that don't even have kids that play. Slowly, but surely, we will build a strong fan base, but like that other poster says...it does take time.
