AC Reynolds will be the #1 in the NW4A, a team can't lose it's #1 seed if they lose the conference tournament. If a lower seed wins the tournament they will get the #2 seed not the #1. AC Reynolds won the NW4A outright. Here are the standings.....

    NW4A

    AC Reynolds.....11-1...23-1
    South Caldwell.....10-2...21-3
    Alexander Central.....7-5...12-10
    Watauga.....6-6...10-11
    McDowell.....5-7...10-14
    Freedom.....2-10...7-15
    East Burke.....1-11...6-15

You are correct Ren. I thought ACR and SC were still tied at the top after splitting season series. ACR on the 1 line for the NW4A, SC on the two barring an upset in the conference tourney. Brackets have been amended.

No matter how it shakes out, there is going to be some tough, tough 1st round games. I won't be surprised to see 2-3 upsets...it is that good.

I'll tell you this. The team that ends up representing the West will be a strong, battle tested team..and, as always, the team with the deepest pitching staff will go the furthest

I know this is about brackets not predictions, but since there is not a prediction thread, I predict North Meck as the cinderella team. They have been flying under the radar all year. Although they are not as seasoned as last year's team, I believe they are a better team...with not near as much pressure or expectations. They are relaxed, talented and dangerous. Watch out for those Vikings!

I love the underdog, but the Vikings to watch out for this year are North Forsyth. I know that's a safe bet considering they are #1, but NF is a tremendous baseball team with no weaknesses. The thing that will set them apart is the ability to pound good (playoff-caliber) pitching. I just don't see anyone slowing them down.

I agree. Lot's of talk about Reynolds, S.Caldwell and the Charlotte teams, but for some reason North Forsyth seems to have been overlooked all season (except for the teams that had to play them). They would be my favorite going into the playoffs. I have a feeling A. Johnson and D. Ackley and company will be hard to beat.

Can't a team face a team from their own league in the first round? I thought they could.

Oh yes...they are the team to beat and should be the favorites. But I remember Alexander Central being undefeated going into the playoffs a couple of years ago and ......oops!
