Great game and a great crowd. Zach White threw 7+ innings for ND and Clay Watson came in relief to get the win. Jay Yount had a homerun for ND and Luke Wilhelm drove in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth. ND vs. South Caldwell Thursday night.

NNash mounts furious come back to advance

Northern Nash gave away 6 unearned runs to fall behind to Harnett Central tonight. They then answered in a grand way as Soph Mike Williams hit a grand slam in the fourth to make it 6-4. Northern proceeded to put 7 runs on the board in the fifth and added 2 more in the sixtn. In total they scored 13 unanswered runs to win 13-6. An amazing comeback.

WP: Andrew Webb tossed 3 1/3 innings in relief allowing only 3 singles

    Daniel Moore double
    Andrew Webb single
Desary Rosser two doubles and a home run
    Zach Woodley single
Thomas Sykes two singles and a double
Mike Williams the big grand slam
    Jeremy Proctor single

What a great KNIGHT....it should be a fun matchup with CB Aycock this weekend.

    North Lenoir vs Cedar Ridge

NL 10 CR 0 five innings. Congrats to the Hawks.

Great win for Northern Nash. It should be a very good series between them and Aycock.

A couple comments on the North Davidson/NW Guilford game:

...It was a classic "shame for anyone to lose" situation. I really felt bad for NWG. They played well enough to win.

...Give a ton of credit to Sophmore Logan Self, who went all 9 innings for NWG. Dang, the kid just gritted it out & kept the Knights at bay (only allowed 7 hits I think). This kid is the real deal. He & Zach White were fun to watch.

...Special kudos to Clay Watson of ND. He came in to relieve in the 8th w/ one on & no outs. Kid hits a comebacker that bounced off his glove. 2 on & no outs. It looked like curtains, but Clay got 2 ground ball outs & a huge K. He showed he is not just White's shadow. The last 2 outings, Clay has thrown 3 hitters. Impressive.

...There were 2 big calls that went against NWG: a swipe tag at the plate which I think was clearly correct. And even bigger: a 2 out play in top of 8th in which 1b Daniel Kassouf held his foot on the bag on a wide throw. Run would have scored. Huge argument & probably justifiably so. But there was a 4 man crew & the ump was on top of the play.

...Jay Yount of ND hit a solo homer in 2nd.

...Play of the game was in the 8th. With 2 on & no outs, grounder up the middle & ND shortstop Levi Michael made a Sportscenter Webgem. Dove & flipped the ball backwards to get the force.
