    rattdd: I was under the impression that a player was nominated for the Impact Showcase event and then either "approved" or "not approved'.

    IMPACTBB: Can you explain or verify how ALL the Impact Showcase players are "approved" or "not approved" for the Impact Showcase events?!? I know of some players that were nominated but not approved?!?

    I know a few that are great quality players, they weren't even invited.

    The selection process is as follows:

    Who Gets Invited:
    Top-notch players we feel have the ability to compete and play baseball in college or at the professional level after high school.

    'We' can not see every player first hand, so we rely on a web of contacts throughtout the state(s) to help us with players that are nominated to us. Are we or our contacts always right on players - of course not, so we miss a few.

    We do have roster spots available for our Showcase at Liberty University (Lynchburg, VA) August 11-12, 2003. If you are a college bound player in NC/SC feel free to nominate yourself via our website: www.IMPACTBASEBALL.com or e-mail me directly.

    We are hosting an Underclassman Showcase and an Unsigned Senior Showcase this NOV 8 & 9.

    In my son's case, he was asked to attend the camp, but due to a commitment to his Showcase team, he could not attend. He did send in the profile to Impact Baseball though. Not sure what happens after that, though?

    I didn't see Chris Taylor, C-Mount Pleasant on any of the list above. Anyone know why? He is a very, very good catcher with a great bat! Just wondering if he was invited and for some reason not going, or if he is going and just not mentioned, or if he was one to slip through the crack?

    sugarjet: You'll have to get in touch with Chris Taylor for us to see why Chris is NOT attending the Impact event if you know Chris that well. His name is not on the attendee list. It could be that Chris has reasons of his own for not attending if he is as good of a catcher as you say and not just a "one to slip through the crack" case?!?

    There are many, many more players that have not been listed on this Impact Showcase event thread that will be in attendance. I have ONLY mentioned the players that I know that are attending but there are over 100 attendees.
