#7 seed Concord advances to SPC Tournament Championship

    With a masterful pitching effort from Concord's Andrew Ward the Spiders shut out #3 Parkwood 5-0 in the semifinal of the SPC Tournament at Piedmont.

    The Championship Game is at 7:00pm tomorrow at Piedmont against the regular season champions Piedmont. In the late game Piedmont defeated Sun Valley 5-4.

    The Spiders scored three in the first, one in the fifth, and one in the second on their way to victory.

    Andrew Ward pitched a complete game, scattering three hits, striking out 6, walking 5 in the victory. In the 21 outs, Ward had 11 groundouts, 6 strikeouts, 3 flyouts, and one caught stealing. Concord committed 0 errors.

    This is the first SPC Championship Game appearance for the Spiders in many, many years.

    Concord vs. Piedmont ---- 7:00pm Thursday at Piedmont

    Go Concord!... My friend Chad Dempsey is on this team and my AAu team too...... GO CHAD AND GO CONCORD!... great job guys
