The 10:00 and 1:00 games have been called all together. Weather permiting, Kings Mountain will play South Meck at 4:00 and Burns/Christian will be at 7:00 for the championship.

S Meck was beaten by Kings Mountain, 4-1. Tyler Leach picked up the win, giving up 3 hits through the 4 he pitched. Didnt get the name of the kid who relieved him but he shut South Down until 3 pop -up/wind aided singles in the top of 7, when South scored their only run (singular) of the evening. (btw: South scored 2 runs in the last 14 innings in Shelby.)

Rubenstein took the loss. KM scored all of their runs in one inning (2nd or 3rd)when a 2 out , bases loaded double (inches off the right fielder's glove) scored 3 and a following double plated the 4th run.

A fairly clean game error wise. The wind was unbelievable- howling out in left field - Pre game we thought we'd see numerous homers but no one hit one out.
Hats off to Kings Mountain . They deserved it.

South has work to do and its all mental. Much talent/few "gamers" in my opinion. I do know it is darkest just before sunlight.

Shelby star article on championship game

Burns played well through out the tourney. Kings Mountain has the potential to be a good team.

Two teams with great potential have a lot of work to do. South Meck lost two of three in the tourney and could have easily lost to Crest.

Crest lost two straight and right after the Shelby defeat, Coach Hodge called a 3 hour practice at the school on "fundamentals".

A very enjoyable tourney. Shame that the weather didn't turn out better.
