    Charlotte Christian vs Burns Summary

the link is bad so here's the Shelby Star article plus some additional details:

The Knights lit up the first inning with a three hit outburst that was topped by a Matt Gantner RBI single. However even though CCS had runners in scoring position multiple times later in the the game, strong pitching by the Burns HS Bulldogs (10-2) held the Knights at bay.

The Bulldogs' Josh Drewery piled up 12 K's in his seven innings of work while scattering three more hits over the final six innings. Chris Whitley worked four innings for Christian and struggled with location in the gusting, chilly wind - giving up a pair of earned runs and taking the loss.

Chris Cook led off the second for Burns with a 370 foot double to right center, and Tyler Watts drew a walk. After a sacrifice bunt by Chris Kings moved the runners over, Ben Downs drove in a run with a single to left that was misplayed, allowing the second runner to score. Jordan Lattimore provided run number three with a solo home run that cleared the wall in left field.

Burn's Josh Drewery was named the Tournament's outstanding pitcher while the Knights' Tyler Kirkpatrick was 2-for-3 at the plate in Saturday’s finale and was named as the Tournament's outstanding fielder for his efforts at second base.
