    bat ban

according to my friends in sc, they follow the same rules as nc does, all bats must be asa approved. I also understand that this bat being banned is a direct safety issue about the barrell being seperated from the handle's. this was witnessed at the world series, not once, but on three seperate occasions. We have heard that the rest of the line must be improved or removed.(but we heard this four months ago), and this not only applies to this company, but three other companies also, safety is becoming the great issue, and I believe that issue is only about a year late. you can look for bat speeds to drop by 10% or so and accordingly, the bp factor will drop, and yes, all current bats (that dont fall apart on impact) will be grandfathered in. now, this isnt gospel yet, this is current speculation from the engineers and tech reps from the company i rep for bats, and based on the info they receive(they are currently changing their bats for the 2006 year to meet rule changes for safety) things had to change somewhere and sometime, too many pitchers and third basemen were getting pegged by the high tech bats. :twocents:
