Might have one starting 8U in the fall.

What are the pitching distances for 8U and 10U?

What are the pitching rules for 8U and 10U? I know coach pitches some in 8U, not sure if they let the kid pitch a couple then the coach finishes or just what.

Not been in 8U for a loooonnnnngggg time. :0:

    Thanks.

35' unless its changed within the rec levels.

got a bunch of 10u pitchers working around these parts and we work alot at 40 and beyond so that 35' will appear............................ a piece of cake.

    10u is 35 feet
    8u is coach pitch only

This rules are for NSA, not sure about other associations.

Not sure about 8U...in the past this has been coach pitch. 10U pitches from 35 feet with the 11 inch ball. Back when my daughter was 10 we ran into quite a few pitchers throwing 53 plus. To me this was a little unfair to the hitters. I have always thought the 10Us should throw from 40, but still use the 11 inch ball.

    8U by machine

For 8U in our area of Johnston & a few surrounding counties, instead of "coach-pitch-lobbing", they use a pitching machine at about 32-34 mph and it's a flat pitch more or less.

Then the "real player/pitchers take over at 10U.

great tool and i am sure the kids enjoy this!

in your area EOR, are the rec ball numbers still surging or leveling out?

Those pitchers were out of the norm, but we saw them on a regular basis. The kid from Wayne County Hurricanes and the one from the Challengers were both 50+ at 10 years old. I do recall several more that were right there also. I am talking about 6 years ago. Not sure what the 10U look like today, although I did see a couple of tournament teams play and saw nobody that was close to what I saw 5 or 6 years ago...this doesn't mean they are not there...I just didn't see them at the tournaments I attended. I believe the girl from Wayne County's name was Haley. The girl from the Challengers was Peavey. They both were 50+, but Haley threw harder and was more like 55.
