How about asking all of the KM girls when they started playing travel ball. Don't think they started when they were 8 or did they?

I am not against 8u girls playing just against travel. I think it is a waste of time. I think playing rec up till 10 & then getting into the travel ball.

    travel ball

Guru, I coached travel ball for 6 years. Enjoyed it and love the memories. I agree with starting early, but not traveling and playing so much that you just burn them out at an early age. Seen it happen way too often. Speaking from experience here, ok...? Play travel ball at 10, 12U locally if possible. Start traveling at 14U, showcases at 16 and 18U. Not the only opinion out there I am sure but it is one that I have seen done time in and time out.

You have to do like I did GET SPONSORS, yes it is coming down off the pedestal of PRIDE to ask people to help sponsor your kid, but in the long run it keeps young girls out of trouble...it has been proven young girls that play sports are less likely to encounter pre-marital sex.......IT'S WORTH THE INVESTMENT...lets see taking care of a grandchild that a teenage girl has for the rest of your life because of too much idle time....$500,000 dollars....that's what the average cost in raising a child for 18 years........HMMMMMMMMMMMM....Go Figure...Guru

You do bounce around from topic to topic, don't you? Sponsors, been there, done that. Nothing new here on that front. I can keep them just as busy at home at that age. Attention span at that age is very limited, variety will keep them focused. But, then last time I checked, 8 years old was not a teenager.

Okay, Don't travel, but why are you putting your hang-up on everybody else,I'm sorry if you didn't enjoy traveling....but my daughter and me have a great bond from it....The waste of time is your opinion, but I can ask 100 people and they will not respond like you have....Guru

An outline starts at A then goes to B and so on and so on...you can't start at C to have a successful outline, you leave out important things to make the outline thorough...if I got up at 12:00 PM to start my day at work I would not finish at the end of the day...I would be behind in my work..what happens it bottles neck me for the next day....you can't start a child at age 12 in a sport...you must have fundamentals by that age..I didn't say there was no room for learning, but it can't be things in softball 101...Guru

The problem with your posts are that you assume the only way to learn softball is through travel ball starting at the age of 8....You also seem to think that the points being made was we waited until age 12 to start. Another wrong assumption.

I know a little about outlines as well. You can't have an "A" without a "B" and you can't have a "1" without a "2" but you can have "A" and "B" and not have a "C". Was this topic about english outline structures now?
