    WHS over Ashe

Watauga beat Ashe. The unofficial final, because I heard it from my wife, was 29-12.

Pioneers improve to 3-2 and have eclipsed last season's win total.

two streaks come to an end tonight. Ragsdale hadn't been shut out in 82 straight games. And they had scored in double figures all 82 games.

All Grimsley could do was run. They never completed a pass. Ragsdale offense was bad to horrible all night. #55 for Grimsley was in the Tiger backfield EVERY play. #8 was in there with him half of those. Grimsley scored in the 2nd quarter - mainly because of a gift froim the refs. Ragsdale had a Grimsley runner stopped on 3rd down near the 50. Knee was clearly down but the player got up and kept running all the way to the one. How the refs misssed the knee down I'll never know.

Ragsdale only had two posessions in the second half ( well three actually) but in between Grimsley had two posessions - one that took 11 minutes off the clock in the 3rd ending in a field goal to start the fourth. Ragsdale never could really get moving and Grimsley then proceeded to run off all the 4th quarter clock.

Grimsley ran some weird little back in motion offense, they never did even pitch the ball to him and Ragsdale never did figure out how to defend it. They just aren't big enough up front.

It scares me because SE Guilford ran the same offense last year and thats who Ragsdale opens conference play next week.

Cougars up 35-0 at half. The clock never stopped the entire 2nd half. It started even before the 2nd half kick. 3rd and 4th quarters were played in less than a half hour.

    Alexander Central 3-1
    North Wilkes 1-3

Alexander Central @ McDowell next Friday

Mooresville fell behind 12-0 and turned the ball over 6 times (5 from the QB) but stormed back to get their first win of the season at South Rowan.
