Courage is FEAR, that said it's PRAYERS.
Well, let's hear some of your thoughts and opinions on this one. I just want to say congrats to both teams on getting her and representing the NW4A the way they have. I think this leaves no doubt as to which conference is best in the state when it comes to girls basketball. Regardless of the outcome Sunday in my eyes both teams will go home winners. :applause:
Now talk to me and let's hear what you think about the upcoming game on Sunday!

Well I guess I will have to get things going on here! Once again it comes down to the two best teams, in the best conference in the state, only this time the prize is a little bit bigger. As a Reynolds fan I am glad to see we are getting to play this somewhere outside of Marion so we might actually have legit shot at winning, as everyone knows you don't beat McDowell in Marion. Anyway on to the game....I am sure the Lady Rockets will continue to try to pound it inside against the Lady Titans as they have for the past three games with some success, but the real key is not letting McDowell jump out to a big lead in the first quarter like they did in the last meeting. In the game the Lady Rockets defeated McDowell, ACR jumped out early and although were behind 18-17 after the 1st period, they had confidence and went on to take a 35-31 halftime lead. This is the type of game ACR needs to play in order to win Sunday. Another huge key will be rebounding, in ACR's win they DOMINATED the glass at both ends of the floor, in their two losses they were either beaten on the glass or it was about even. Can ACR handle the pressure that will be present from McDowell's defense? That is another key to watch in the game, since these two teams know each other so well, ACR will not be shocked by the speed or the intensity that McDowell plays at which should help. Normally I would have to say that ACR might be a little nervous about the whole situation, but being around these kids, and knowing them, plus with them playing McDowell that will relax them even more because there is no fear of the unknown, I think ACR will come out with the nothing to lose attitude as they will be the underdog here in this one and they are excited to be playing McDowell again. I know everyting will have to play out right for ACR but I think they can do this and they are playing with tons of confidence right now. Being from Reynolds you didn't expect me to pick McDowell did you? ACR 65 McDowell 62

FINAL NOTE: On a personal note I want to send out my congratulations out to ALL the players and coaches from each team. McDowell and AC Reynolds both have represented the NW4A conference with nothing but class and dignity throughout these playoffs. I hope that whichever team wins on Sunday that the fans will show the losing team the respect they deserve for making to the FINAL FOUR of the NCHSAA State Playoffs. Good Luck to both teams and I hope that Patrice Smith is able to play in this game, that would be great for her! :xyzthumbs

I don't have any inside info, but I feel sure Patrice tore some kind of ligament. I seriously doubt she will be playing. What does that mean?
Well, Revis brings some advantages in hawking defense, chasing loose balls, and going after rebounds. Also, playing Bruington or Smith with Kiser makes us taller which I've wanted all season. Patrice has been playing very well though, and she drives and makes layups in traffic and backdoors alot. They will miss her but I don't think it will determine this game.

I think Anna will play huge, can Thompson match that? Wait, I know she can, but will she? I hope Kiser continues to play well so we don't killed by Alexander. I hope Lovik is still smoking from outside and running the floor. I think what will make the difference is a great game from either Rybacki, Worley, or Akendra Brown.

It will be interesting to see the defensive strategies each coach chooses.
They both like to try things to help win the game, 2 super coaches.
I'm not going to pick a winner, but until my bubble gets bursted, I'm riding with the team that has Anna Atkinson.

By the way, I hope to see the championship next week regardless of who wins. The schedule says it is on Friday. Does anybody know what time?
I wish it would be on Saturday.

One more thing, where are we going to sit? We were on the same side the other night.

first off, the NCHSAA put out the schedule for next weekend. The 4A girls championship is next Saturday at noon. I know ladiesfan will be happy there...

as far as the game goes, there's not a lot to really analyze considering this is the 4th matchup between McDowell and Reynolds. As ladiesfan said, Atkinson is going to have a big game, hopefully Lovik continues. The scoring of Akendra Brown and Kiser will the critical. For Reynolds you have Thompson and Alexander , and then Rybaci, McGalliard and Worley will compliment the main two. McDowell loses having the pleasure of bringing Revis off the bench for defensive reinforcement, but I think the Senior can put together another good game. The offense from her is a bonus IMO. She can hit the 3 point shot, so you know Reynolds can't completely ignore her. The rest of the bench is going to also be a critical part for McDowell. Bruington is going to get minutes inside, Cable to likely be the one to spell some rest for Lovik and Brown. I think you may also see Whitney Mace get in there too, Mike used her in some situations during the regular season and she played well, but as you know this is a lot different than the regular season.

All in all, this should be a very good game, and I think this should put a smile on every NW4A member's face. The two best teams in the west is coming from the best conference in the state...to bad somebody's heart will be broken.

I'm picking McDowell to win, 66-59.

That's great news, bigdan. We will support whoever wins in Raleigh next Saturday, then drive to Chapel Hill (where the game should be anyway) spend the night at the old stomping grounds, then go to the ACC championship in Greensboro on Sunday. The fun never ends! Go Lady Titans!

Well according to the brackets AC Reynolds is the home team, so I am assuming (yeah I know, never assume) the Reynolds fans will be on the side the teams are on just like on Thursday. That would make the most sense. The home team fans have sat on the same side as the team in all the games so far so I guess that is the way it will be Sunday.

I doubt that will hold much water with the McDowell fans plus it seems like the #1 seed would be the home team. We'll know that by uniform colors and scoreboard. I guess fans can sit anywhere they want. I'm not trying to start an argument, I was just curious.

Well here is the ACTUAL quote from the Ihigh site stating who would be the home team: "the First team listed is designated home team for opening round. 7:00pm game winning teams are the home team for regional championship (home team wears white uniforms). "
Since ACR won the 7pm game on Thursday that would mean we are the home team don't you think? I know McDowell fans will sit anywhere they want, and I have no problem with that, and I know you aren't trying to start an argument, all I am doing is stating the facts. ACR is the home team, and every game so far the home team has sat behind the team benches. Just the facts, not saying it's a law or anyting.

you know how those seating arrangements usually don't pan out... :laugh1:

For all I care, you can hang me from the rafters, I'm just happy to be going tomorrow. I didn't get to make it to the Garinger or East Forsyth games because of my work schedule, you'll never know how nervous I was not being close to a radio to hear what's going on... :hammer:
