2006 4-A State Champion runner up
    2007 4-A State Champions
    2007 ranked #17 nationally
    2008 ranked #38 nationally
Normally when a team graduates virtually all their position players and their ace, you would think they would be in a re-building mode.
At South Caldwell, they just seem to reload.
How do they do it ?
Seems like a seamless pipeline from travel ball to Junior legion to HS to Legion with guys like Steve Coffey oiling the machine.

Everyone said we would only have one pitcher this year in Messer. Well so far in 4 games we've allowed only one run and had one no hitter thrown and it wasn't by Messer. also heard we would have no power at the plate. But we have had homeruns by 5 or 6 different players and Chavis hasn't even hit one yet. The coaching in our area is outstanding at the lower levels as well as at the top plus most every good athlete here grows up wanting to play baseball. Kind of hurts football and basketball though

    Slow Down

I know you guys are really really good. But you might want to wait awhile before you order the rings. There is alot of baseball yet to be played. And their are some really good teams that are not doing alot of talking on message boards. But they are out there. Your the favorites no doubt. But sometimes its best to fly under the radar a little if you can.

I don't think anyone has gotten ahead of themselves. Most know it will be very hard for us to get back to Raleigh this year. Not impossible but it would be a great accomplishment. Just taking one game at a time and see how it goes

I would rather see it happen than hear about it right now... the past is, well the past. Dont count your chickens before they hatch, I have always heard....

A "dynasty" doesn't start after 2 great years of exceptional baseball. It starts with a community that that lives and breathes baseball. Kids that want to be SPARTANS before they can swing a bat. Each generation of kids feeding off the the generation before them. Upper classmen teaching under classmen by example on the field and in the classroom. Parents who are dedicated to put the time and money into their "little Johnnys" in hopes of maybe making the team one day. AAU and U-Trip Coaches who never take the glory and are always the goat. Then you have a head high school coach who teaches team before self.Who teaches everyone on the team to look out for each other on the field and in the classroom.Someone to instill discipline, dedication and confidence on and off the field. These are what SPARTAN baseball is about. We have a great ballteam who is trying to accomplish a goal that is every High school teams goal(make the playoffs and win a state championship). Jeff Parham does not reload he rebuilds every year starting with his freshman on up. Will this years team keep the string of state finals going, it's way to early to tell. I can say one thing, they will always be winners because each senior class lays down another step towards that place called DYNASTY!
    GO SPARTANS

Since 007 does not appear to be a SC fan I'll simply say that to be a dynasty you must win championships. SC has one recent state championship and that is not a dynasty. Great program, but certainly not a dynasty.

I would say we are as close to a dynasty as a baseball team can be. Sure we don't win a state title every 5 years or even 10 but no one will do that in baseball. To many variables. But we have been in the state playoffs something like 25 out of the 30 years our school has existed and I think we are on a run of somewhere around 21 straight playoff appearances. We have won our conference around 20 times. 2 state championships and 1 runner up. It has not just been a 2 year run for us like dawgwood stated, it has been a 30 year run and continuning. I don't think you will ever see a dynasty in high school baseball if it means winning a state championship every couple years. We will win another someday till then we will just keep winning many more games than we lose. And just to clear up the start of this I don't think the thread starter here is even a South Caldwell Fan, player or parent

The thread starter says 4A dynasty and that means 4A state championships. If the thread starter said NW4A dynasty you have an argument.

I knew that when I read the post for the first time last night. Now this morning with all the negative posts it has generated, I looked at all the posts from Mr. 007 and guess what? He knows a whole lot more about Watauga than he does about South Caldwell. He knew exactly what he was doing by putting a title thread like that on this board. (1) South Caldwell Fans (not players or coaches or parents!!) would comment because we do have some proud fans, and (2) everyone else would place one more target on their back.
Congratulations 007 it worked like a charm.

:N1Idontgetit::There have been very few posts about this year's South Caldwell team. Bragging or informative!! There have been mostly posts about this years Watauga team, and for good reason. They have been both baseball and nonbaseball related. That's what I thought this board was about, to talk about the players and the teams and their accomplishments. But, I guess if something good happens for a player on South's team we just need to keep it to ourselves and not inform the readers on this board because we are only bragging, or counting our chickens, or ordering our rings. I'm sorry I just don't understand the difference! :fire:
