Do you know the balance of the O's 16-u roster? You've already mentioned three good ones.

Rain. For example, the 16U O's have had 6 games scheduled. 1 win and 5 rainouts so far.

BTW, Squid, the 16U O's, like the Charlotte Rhinos, the Mudcats, the Panthers and many other good travel teams, have the best of both worlds. They will play in several select tournaments -- Perfect Game, East Cobb, Jeff City, etc., and they will play 3 local AABC games each week they don't play a tournament. Keeps them sharp between tournaments and keeps the costs down (some, anyway).

Does one or the other always have to be best?

I must say that the last 2 years in the age group that is now 16U AABC has been very competitive. Sure there were a couple weak teams, but there were 5 or 6 solid clubs -- Matthews Cougars, Carolina Blues, Providence Panthers, Carolina Black Sox, Union Co. Sabres, Carolina Wildcats. Maybe it hasn't been that way in every age group, but our guys have had a great experience. It sure beats going to Kinston, Concord, New Bern or Hickory every weekend.

the squids not directing criticism at the teams, just the organization. as evidence, check the website out: http://www.eteamz.com/CAROLINAAABC/ that's sept of 2001 my man! this ain't 1952. the web is the way, even in the open sea.

organizationally they missed an opportunity. the league play is hit or miss, even the note you posted shows you still have to travel to get the consistently good competition.

as another eample, i heard second hand this weekend they never contacted E Meck (the primo, between the white lines, playing surface in CHLT) to use the fields though they scheduled games there.

you tell the squid about teams well, but the org is still just seaweed with a lot of potential.
