Went out to watch some 12u and 14u this weekend, AAU. I hadn't seen AAU ball in a while, my daughter is done playing.

watched some of the 12's but mostly 14's.

Lady Blues went 4-0 Saturday (I think) and won it all. I watched the last two games against the Outlaws (good team, very good HS pitcher, believes she goes to Weddington).

Blues won 2-1 and 3-2 in A Bracket.

Blues, Outlaws, Va Future Gold, Denver Dazzle best of show.

Also watched the B Bracket, Mixers ended up with that one....

Heard several comments about really good umpires and how well run the tourney was. Nice to hear, hope AAU can make a comeback. They serve the kids well in all sports.

    Umps not that good

All of the good umps must have been on the 14u fields.
And, paying $6 gate fee to just play one game on Friday was not a popular decision on AAUs behalf:banginghe

    Give AAU a chance

The umps were not that bad. Unfortunatly we were in the B bracket(where we belong) and there were a few missed calls on both sides. I feel like Robin is very fair and does the best she can with what she can. If you treat the umps with respect, they in turn do not "miss any calls". Keep in mind, these guys are out in the heat most of the day doing the best they can. Just my two cents. Congrats to the Lady Blues on a great tourny!!!!!! Great coaches, players, and parents!!!!:trophy: :229031_ha

    Thanks Nathan,
You guys are classy as well. You and I both understand we are teaching about Life here and not just about softball.

The girls played well this weekend, very proud of all.

There should be some type of break if a parent paid $6 to get into RRiver, then they had to go to Flowe, maybe if you show your ticket you get in for $3, something like that.

It is tough paying $12 or more to watch ball, if you had one at each place.
