Just for clarification, because I have been asked by MANY folks this past season at various different ballparks, that folks had heard "rumors" about the 19 yr.old rule changing after this season and folks had "heard" that 19s would not be able to play legion baseball anymore after this year.

However, according to the National Website, 19 year olds WILL BE ALLOWED to continue playing legion baseball for the 2009 season. The rule specifically says any player born Jan.1,1990 or after is eligible to play in 2009, with anyone born in 1989 not eligible.

This is a national rule and therefore it apparently looks like a "done deal" for 2009. It goes on to say that Junior Legion Eligibility is handled by each individual state director.

To see this rule and other recent announcements, go to: http://www.baseball.legion.org/ ,,,then click on "NEWS" at top left

Also announced is 2009 World Series in Fargo, North Dakota Aug.14-18,,,, and 2010 World Series in Spokane, Washington Aug.13-17.
