Have dinner ready. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal ready on time for his return. This is a way of letting him know that you have be thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. During the cooler months of the year you should prepare and light a fire for him to unwind by. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift too. After all, catering to his comfort will provide you with immense personal satisfaction.

Minimize all noise. At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of the washer, dryer or vacuum. Encourage the children to be quiet.

Be happy to see him.

Greet him with a warm smile and show sincerity in your desire to please him.
Listen to him. You may have a dozen important things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first - remember, his topics of conversation are more important than yours.

Don't greet him with complaints and problems.

Don't complain if he's late for dinner or even if he stays out all night. Count this as minor compared to what he might have gone through at work.
Make him comfortable. Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or lie him down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him.

Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes.

Speak in a low, soothing and pleasant voice.

Don't ask him questions about his actions or question his judgment or integrity. Remember, he is the master of the house and as such will always exercise his will with fairness and truthfulness. You have no right to question him.

A good wife always knows her place.

People want to know whats wrong with this country, well, there you go. I happen to like the good ole' days....

john, had my wife read this and this was her responses:

since we both work, the only way dinner will be ready when i get home is to bring it with me.

after 8-10 hours in that embroidery shop, she said you know what you can do with that ribbon thing!!!!!!

the only things gay in our house are the dogs??(at least she didnt say me)

if there's clutter in the house, pick the dam stuff up yourself as you're probably the one who left it anyway.

the only fire she's gonna light is the one under my daughers butt to get her to clean up her room..

the vacuum cleaner only fits my hands and not my wifes (she tells me so every saturday)

she see's me all day and night long, so the only smile she has for me is when i hand her paycheck to her on friday..

she said, fluff your own pillow, take your own shoes off and put them away, find your own paper, feel lucky you have a pillow the dogs havent chewed up and be happy that she's yelling at our daugher (college things) and not at me.

she says she knows her place, its behind me putting that size seven up my butt on every occasion that i act like i'm still a teenager playing ball.

does anyone else have these problems?????

Ahh, the good old days for sure...... At least now we have a Maytag and not the old metal wash board and clothesline!!!!!!

I have met Cheeze's wife...she is the real deal and I know she did say all of those things. And yes, the mess is all his!!!!!!!

Oh Yes I Remember !!!

Mama's home cooking every Sunday...pork chops,rice & gravey or mashed potatoes, ice tea, rolls,and the family rag to pass to each other to wipe our chins..no doors locked at night and no A.C. either, just a good ole intake fan at the door. Neighborhood gatherings and close friends to go visit at Christmas time, nasty egg nog--YAK !! Summer barbecues with baseball teams and summer vacations that we use to take !!! Oh well there use to be clean fun affairs back in the 60's and early 70's,but now FAST FOOD or should I say FAT FOOD has taken over our lives..But at least the Patriots got beat last night !!!

I can't stop laughing, now that's funny....for stay at home moms maybe (because they work as hard as us working mom's), but working mom's??? No way. When I get off work between 5 & 6 in the evening, I'm going home to my 2nd job, at home with dinner, laundry etc. etc. I know (at least I think) this was a joke...thanks for the laugh!
