To see all these talented young ladies, realize their dreams, after all the hard work they have put into this game we all love. Every time I see or hear that another kid has committed it makes me smile.
I sincerely hope that the college expierence turns out to be all they hoped for.
Congratulations ladies, parents, and coaches, TB and HS, on a job well done!

That is a great title for a thread!
Expanding on that theme, I've been going to some rec games over the past few weeks. To see these players play at the level they are now and realize where they and their parents are headed brings a smile to me.

Some of these players that are currently throwing the ball into the bleachers or swinging at clouds will too soon be the kids that are signing with the various universities.

And listening to bleacher talk amongst the parents brings back memories that one might not want to remember. I can't really believe I acted like that--but I did--along with some other TBR members, I might add.

"Ain't it great!" sort of sums it up!!

Anyone else have some of those "Ain't it great!" views?

one thing that is hard to admit, but i personally realized in my current old age, is that i spent my second childhood with my dd and her friends. i could of spent in on the golf course, playing ball myself or racing, but i choose to spend it on a field with a bunch of girls who were wet behind the ears, didnt know anything about the game and only knew that they loved to play and loved to play the game with their friends. all of my original core players are in their senior year of college or married and have kids of their own. wouldnt trade any of these memories we shared away for anything.

it is heart warming to see these girls finally progress to the next level. i'm proud for them, their parents and the people who worked behind the scenes to help them achieve this. you just dont realize how many people might of worked to help get your dd into college. i know of a few guys who work behind the scenes without pay, without attention and do it, not seeking personal credit, but because it seems to be their calling in life.

i'm not going to throw out any names here, because attention is not what they seek, but i can name seven guys right now......so ya never know who's on your shoulder guiding you and it all goes back to the statement we've tried to teach all of you: "mind your manners on and off the field, ya never know who's watching"

    Fall

Each fall makes me realize why I still do Travel softball. Getting the call from a kid all giddy as they just committed to a school that they had wanted to attend. Seeing the relief on the faces of all parents who had spent long hours on the field and at the field so DD could enjoy a sport she loves.
Let's all take a minute and think about all the joy kids get from the simple, yet complicated sport and stride to always give them our best and push them for their best!
Congratulations to all the signees and their families, getting paid to participate in something you love is the ultimate satisfaction! Participation in athletics opens many doors that many do not realize!
Enjoy this moment and buckle down in the classroom as to be a successful ball player in college, you first must stay in school! LOL

Cheese...from one younger "lint head" to one old as hell "lint head" I could not agree more. I had a friend call and ask me to play in the Member Member golf tournament this weekend, and I didn't even know it was going on this weekend! We'll be in Kernersville at the ASA States, and I wouldn't miss it for anything. These girls work so hard this time of year with 5 days of MS ball, and 2 days of TB. You gotta love the game to put that much time into the sport, and getting a scholarship is an awesome achievement. Congrats to all, I know the time and dedication to the sport makes it all worth while.

    Experiences great so far!

I thought I would add that the 2009's we sent off to college all seem to be enjoying their experiences so far, and are enjoying softball. To a person, they all have let us know how much hard work is involved, but none seem to be discouraged by it. I know the attrition rate can be high, and I'll admit being anxious as to how everything would play out, but right now, all signs are positive! It does make it all worthwhile to see the players succeed. It's icing on the top of the cake of being involved in the greatest sport of all!:trampoline:

You don't know how many times I have laughed out loud at the,"I've already stretched and run sprints before the sun comes up,"comment. Gotta love it to live it......and when it's 2 a days plus weight training...you're livin it.
