I liked the CF angle too. That's the first time I've taken pictures from the football stadium bleachers beyond CF. I would have liked the results even better if the sun wasn't behind a cloud. These digital cameras really need a lot of light to take "stop action" pictures through a zoom lens. They still turned out pretty good.

Sorry, but I'm hoping for a game 7 so I can get one more chance to take pictures from CF on a sunny day! We'll find out tonight if I'll get that chance.

Nick's doing about a well as we can hope. I appreciate the concern. He certainly would rather be on the field helping his team win, but his health is more important at this point.

I guess Tyler took it easy on himself last night... he didn't get hit by one pitch! Is he finally listening to his old man or did he just decide there was no crucial point in the game when he needed to get on base? Tough kid. I'm looking forward to seeing what kind of damage he'll do to our team tonight. Hopefully we'll be able to overcome it.

Braves, I'll let Nick's Dad divulge the sickness, but it's a common thing & I am very happy to say it's not serious. He'll be A-OK to head to Appy State & anchor their infield (I predict). Unfortunately (for Winston) Nick's finished for this series & probably the season. Great kid for sure.

I understand that Lexington beat Winston-Salem 6-5 in 11 innings tonight to win the series 4-2. I wasn't at the game so I'll let UK7Dook3 give the details.

Congratulations to Lexington! You have a bunch of hard-nosed players on the team that just never give up no matter what the score. I think you came from behind to win all four games in this series - including that phenomenal come-back from 10 runs down in the bottom of the 7th with 2 outs in game two. I think that game will become legendary as the years go by.

Good luck in the Area III championship series and in the State Tournament.

rjr, just got in from celebrating. Yea, we came back from the dead again. Down 5-0 in the 4th....and Winston had the sacks loaded with no outs. Look dismal, but Lady Luck smiled.

Freshman Zack White was fab, going 9 innings. Once we tied it up in the 5th, he stepped it up a notch & had only a couple of tense moments. Daniel Sechrest pitched 3 shut out innings. Lex had opportunities to win in each of the last 5 innings, finally scoring on a bases loaded HBP.

Winston I think is a more talented team, but our kids were just 'never say die' grinders. This series easily could have been reversed, but that's baseball.

We are young too...only losing 4 position starters & 2 pitchers (one a closer & superstar Andrew Morton). Future is bright for Lexington. Still have a couple more weeks to enjoy the ride.

Personal note: sorry that Nick missed the last few games. He is a difference maker. And again from all of our parents, thanks for the great pictures.

Congratulations to Lexington,,,,,,,, you guys were clearly the hottest team in the Southern Division the last part of the season. You guys had the best starting pitching and the best hitting. Actually, (and I don't want to get anything started with the Rowan folks here), but I'm pretty sure you guys would've handled Rowan County the last round too if they were still around. In fact (honestly) I would've much rather seen you guys taken out Rowan, because now we will have to all listen to their whining fans for the next buncha years about how they coulda woulda shoulda... :woot:

Anyway, Lexington will definitely represent Area 3 well at the state tournament,,,, and now that you've made it, you may as well go ahead and win this next series to keep the Area Championship in the South.

    Good Luck from Kannapolis !!!
