Albemarle HS Coach Jack Gaster Retires

    He was my football coach in HS and will be missed. I'm not really worried about the program Coach Morris has been a Gaster disciple for so long he's probably as good if not better, but the little things Gaster did outside of football will be missed. He'd sit down with a skinny band nerd and help them with their homework if he knew it would help. He helped yearly in the SAT Prep class even though it was on Sat. morning and he could be sleeping in. He was the kind of person that would pat you on the back if you did good or smack ya upside the head if you were fuckin up. I hate that the end of his tenure was tainted by the girl that claimed he assaulted her, but I'm glad there were witnesses to prove it wrong. I am a bit shocked someone would go to those lengths to hurt a HS football program, but this is rural NC.

    No doubt that he did the job while at Albemarle. He had one heck of a run over the last few years.
