This will be a good game, we easily have AC out athleted, I expect Kareem Newkirk to keep Hargrave on shutdown, and our SF Roddie Bridges to explode, what are some other thoughts?

    Game is this Wednesday

I don't think you can expect one player to shut down Ryan. If Rauscher has a good shooting night, it could be a long night for Wilkes. It will be a great game. Small enviroment makes it very hard to play in.

Our team has a lot of size, and IMO Kareem is just as good as Hargrave...

    G-Chase Miller 5-10
    G-Devin Watkins 5-7
    G-Trae Alexander 5-11
    G-Ka'wayn Nekirk 6-1
    G-Kareem Newkirk 6-2
    G-Christian Gibbs 6-0
    G/F-Roddie Bridges 6-4
    G/F-Martin Hague 6-2
    F-Jordan Lakey 6-6
    F-Matt Abernathy 6-3
    F-Jack Noyes 6-2
    F-Landon Freeman 6-4

We'll see if he's just as good. Just remember, last year AC wasn't as athletic as most of their opponents, but their success showed that being more athletic and bigger doesn't mean you're going to win. It will be a close one.

Thats true, but I will gove my reasons for my opinion's..

    1. The game is in Wilkesboro, and if you have ever been to "the nest", it is very, very difficult to play in, the fans are right on top of you and our fans our ruthless and LOUD, they don't stop yelling, even at haltime. Very tough gym to play in, even harder to win in.

2.Experience, we return all 5 starters, and 5 bench players from last year. Add that and the adbundance of talent from a 22-2 JV team last year, and that is A LOT of talent..We only lost 1 player last year, and he only played 2 minutes top a game.

    3. We beat them last year, and they lost more than they we did, and out stock has went way up, I know last year doesn't mean anything, but that is a big factor for me predicting a game.

4.Depth, we have 10 or 11 guys that are all good enough to start on any given night. We have a lot of fouls to give, and don;t have to worry at foul trouble.

5.Athletes, anytime you have 3 guards with 35 or higher inch verticles, you can control the boards.

    6. We run a zone D, and it is going to to be tough for Hargrave to score, esp. with Kareem, and Martin on him.

I am a homer, but these our just some factors, and my opinions...regardless, we will see in a couple days, this Wilkes Central team has a chance to make some serious noise this regular season, and in the post-season.

    My prediction:

    WC-65
    AC-51

Dude I know it's hard to play in. I was on the team last year haha. It's loud. But AC's zone will keep the athletes from Wilkes off the boards. I expect it will be a low scoring game. Around mid to high 40's, maybe low 50's. It should be a good one though. And I agree about them in the playoffs, same goes for AC.

and we beat Wilkes both times last year on Varsity. I think it was 63-61 there and by about 10 or 15 at Alexander.

I just checked, and you are right, ya'll did beat us both times. I guess I was thinking of Watagua, I knew it was a close game though...

I saw Bunker Hill play this summer, and I think they have the talent to win the CVAC, their guard Blankinc(?) is sick nasty, so that was an impressive win last night.

    I can't wait...

Yea I haven't seen them play but I heard Bunker Hill was a lot better this year. It will be a good game for sure.
